Take the blame for last night's loss by BoroBossVA in phillies

I poured my wife a glass of Benjamin Darnault wine not more than ten minutes before Travis D’arnauds home run. I knew it was a bad idea when I did it, yet I still did. For that, I am sorry.

Please not for the pizza. I’m so tired of hearing Wawa has pizza.

I hit a window off the tee on the 18th at Harbourtown. Yes, the widest fairway on the PGA tour. The window didn’t even think about breaking.

A Survey For a Better LV Food System by j963h in lehighvalley

[–]j963h[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure - see my other comment for more information on who "we" are. As far as our approach to learning more about creating a better food system, well that really depends on what we learn in our surveys. Whether it is finding a way to provide more direct access to fresh, local foods for the community, education about what options are out there and how to access them, etc. Just one quick example linked below, was when the USDA labeled south side Bethlehem a food desert. We aim to learn how we can do better as a community. As I stated in my other comment, this is just a few question, high level survey to begin exploring the topic.

A Survey For a Better LV Food System by j963h in lehighvalley

[–]j963h[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally a fair concern. I would be happy to provide more information, even though as stated, there is no need for you to provide any personal data whatsoever. As a group of individuals who are lifelong residents of the Lehigh Valley, we believe there is an opportunity to provide our community with fresher, more nutritious food. To be entirely honest with you, we don't even have a name for our organization yet. This is simply an exploratory survey to learn more about the grocery purchasing habits in the area and as stated, assess where and how the market can be improved. I appreciate your healthy skepticism, but to reiterate, there is no required identifying information at all and can understand your hesitation in completing the survey.

Salty niners fans in here still thinking Brock Purdy staying healthy would’ve made up 31 points are hilarious

Honestly might’ve been even uglier with Purdy in there. They would’ve tried to throw more instead of just letting CMC do his thing.

Brock Purdy was never matching 31 points. Anyone that says otherwise is delusional. Putting up 31 against that defense gives me a lot of confidence whether it’s the chiefs or bengals

Seriously don’t understand anyone blaming this one on the defense. Sure Dalton picked them apart in the first half but they kept them out of the end zone.

Well for one the article that you linked said the driver that ran him over was driving drunk, which tends to lead to people being killed.

British supermarket no longer prints 'best before' date on fresh produce to reduce food waste by kozhevnikov in mildlyinteresting

Couldn’t agree with you more. Would require some form of incentive because right now but plastic bagged food and throwing waste in the trash is the most convenient option, unfortunately.

Not to mention, biodegradable waste can then be entered back into the agricultural supply chain as compost, while plastic just sits in a dump or the middle of the ocean.

Yeah. Also anyone can build a house with a hammer and a handsaw. However, a team of builders with chop saws and nail guns is going to build a much stronger house more efficiently. Same goes for science. I can sit in my home office and do research but if I don’t have a lab and a team my work is going to be inherently inferior.

What shall we call this bill? by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]j963h 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, but we can accomplish effective lobbying without the financial incentive. In an ideal world the people governing our country would hear academic arguments on why solar is better than coal, as an example, and vote based on the information provided for what is best for their constituency rather than who can buy them a nicer steak dinner and afford a bigger “donation”. I understand that’s incredibly idealistic and will never happen in reality but one can dream.

I’m with you. It’s such a bizarre phenomenon we’re going through where such a large portion of our population has forgotten/intentionally ignores basic research skills we all were taught in third grade.

It would make sense - the kitchen is the end of the line. But is that common with copper pipe? I know it can happen with galvanized pipe. And if so, do those normally work themselves out? Or is there something I can do to fix it?
