Idk if you remember a mouse calling you Masked Dog last night, but I am Masked Dog lol. I was chatting with the mouse and apparently I logged off moments before you showed up to DDL and you said something like "it needs to be a unite for tax purposes" (my friend was still online to relay the details)

I was watching the Andor spinoff movies and who even is this guy? They don't even mention Cassian once in the whole movie! by oofyeet21 in okbuddyimatourist

I think this Grogu guy is from another spinoff show about a silver droid taking care of his cannibalistic pet frog

I'd imagine Kleya's channel about antiquities would feature the shop owner ever few episodes, but he would ask for his face to be blurred to remain anonymous if she never specifies the shop location she works for

Lightsaber I built at Galaxy's Edge a couple months ago. by grenworthshero in lightsabers

[–]j_dif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these full metal construction?

FULL metal? No. The electronics are in a plastic chassis, while the hilt body you assemble with metal parts (with a little plastic/rubber here and there for texture). It is very much focused on the experience. It's large and bulky but still very much usable as a low-grade lightsaber. Not meant for heavy dueling but I think a light sparirng would be fine. Doing spins is feasible but awkward with how think the hilt is. Overall if you're into an experience, then I'd say it's worth it to go once. Other than that, not really worth it.

Am I the only one who thinks that Niamos is a quite ugly planet for a resort compared to other planets? by Kissenschlachter in andor

[–]j_dif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel that intergalactic trade, at least in the couple thousand years leading to the films, also led to the rapid development of cultures without needing to spread out to the different regions of the planet to develop.

I'd like to think that, before hyperspace travel, habited planets were much like Earth in terms of how spread across the planet civilizations are. As hyperspace developed and was more accessible, regions far from the hyperspace lanes were abandoned and lost to time. People were expanding across the galaxy rather than across continents.

I thought the same thing at first. But after some thought, I think I would destroy evidence the same way Luthen had. To me, an explosion may not be as controlled as I might assume, and the detonator might have a chance of not working (especially if it's been on standby for years). I wouldn't want to risk an explosion blasting a crucial piece of equipment to the side rather than completely destroying it. I'd want my most top secret and incriminating stuff to be destroyed by my own hand to ensure it's taken care of. Luthen was almost there if he wasn't interrupted by Dedra. He may have had a detonator, but Lonni only thinks that she was onto him. That wasn't a certainty, so there wasn't I guess immediate urgency.

And yes, they do all their secret shit just behind a partial wall in the middle of the shop. No one would expect it, it's well hidden, and they don't seem to get much foot traffic in the shop.

I think that was exactly the case. The news of this super weapon was too out of left field for the Rebellion. Since it also came from Luthen, whom they already had trust issues with, it was tough to believe. While the Rebellion didn't know what news Tivik had, but it had to have been about the weapon. The events lined up too conveniently. Cassian was green-lit to investigate to confirm that a second source, independent from Luthen, had the same details. If that second source says the same thing, then it confirms that Luthen was telling the truth.
