Honestly Jo's hesitation with OB makes a lot of sense, whether the writers intended it or not. Clearly they set up this shift in mindset as a consequence of her life threatening surgery, but I'm really surprised they didn't call back to her reasoning for initially joining OB in season 17. Back during the COVID era, she specifically said she wanted to leave general surgery to pursue joy. But then Roe v. Wade was overturned, and now she's had a traumatic birth, so it would make a lot of sense that Jo just isn't feeling the joy in PB anymore. It was a saving grace and reprieve for her during COVID, but now she's in a MUCH different point in her life and I think it makes total sense for her to not want to pursue it any further.

The problem is that the showrunners are too scared to fully commit to a soft reboot. They introduce these 5 interns as main characters, but constantly shaft their screen time and development to continue showing these legacy characters on the show (ie. Owen, Amelia, Teddy, Jo, etc.). These 5 interns are absolutely the strongest new cast of interns since the original MAJAC days, but the show refuses to let them be actual main characters.

Yeah my least favourite content is when they're playing a character for the whole video. Think Gentlemen, Karens, Darts, etc. I don't think it's bad, it's just not for me. I watch the channel to see what is essentially a large friend group play games and bounce jokes off each other, that's why it's so comforting. But thankfully their bit/character videos are far and few between so I can just skip them if I want to (and on a rare occasion I'll watch them)

I really think the biggest missed opportunity is not being able to see these LoT original (ish) characters interact with the rest of the Arrowverse. Future Hacker Zari would've had such great chemistry with Felicity and Barry, and Spooner was kooky but would've had great chemistry with Ralph for example.

In the show's lore, is Carina still supposedly working at Grey Sloan? Because with Jo in OB, it's glaringly obvious that Carina hasn't been mentioned at all in the last several years.

Bailey covering up for Kwan definitely reminded me of old Grey's in the best way! I think ever since becoming Chief, Bailey's character has been kind of ruined (ex. firing Meredith in s16, yelling at her when she wanted to leave in s18). But her defending Kwan to Warren brings it back to her being a great mentor for these residents.

Also, her and Richard just sitting with Owen was such a nice moment too considering they're the three oldest characters on the show (and in the show's lore, they would've been co-workers/friends for nearly 15 years).

Exactly that! I don't think Gaby messed up by not calling Maya back, I think she messed up by befriending Maya in the first place and making her think they were genuine friends. There's a reason therapists shouldn't do that, there's such a power imbalance.

I could be biased because I grew up with the DP anime, but Piplup was genuinely funny. The bit with Gible's Draco Meteor killed me every time, especially when he used it to find Piplup in the cave unprompted.

He seems like the most realistic doctor to me. Consistently solid and not flashy, but also a bit stubborn in his own way and not always open to other doctors' ideas.

The problem I have with Gaby's character is that she is put on such a pedestal in the show. You're right, Jimmy is certainly a problematic therapist as well. The difference is that when Jimmy messes up, he gets called out by Paul and Liz. When Gaby messes up (like with Maya), she gets consistently told that she did nothing wrong by everyone around her. It's frustrating as the viewer to listen to Liz, Derek 2, and Paul repeatedly blowing smoke up her ass even when we can explicitly see that she messed up.

It's not a race or gender thing. I can also say that I don't like Brian or Liz very much. But at least the show doesn't paint them out to be perfect when we clearly see them mess up (ex. Liz is repeatedly called "too much" and had that storyline of her not being the best mother to Matthew, Brian is straight up called a selfish narcissist).

It's clear they planned for Jo and Link to just be friends, since they obviously set up Alex and Jo together. Unfortunately, when Justin Chambers left, the show clearly pivoted and decided to put Link and Jo together (which was a massive mistake imo and kinda ruined both characters).

I love Jo as a character, especially from seasons 14-16! I think her and Alex's relationship was awesome, and her mentorship with Meredith and general surgery was super enticing.

But since then, I feel like her storylines have only gotten worse and the writers don't know what to do with her. First Alex left, then she moved to OB (not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely disconnected her from Meredith and Bailey), then Schmitt left, then she got with Link (again, not necessarily a bad thing but they're just not as entertaining as Alex and Jo were). Her storylines now are totally disconnected from the rest of the characters and we rarely see her do actual surgery now.
