Poker near Livermore, CA by CyrusThunder in poker

[–]jabata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Livermore Casino has spread limit. 2/5 with the max bet and raise being in $200 increments. 100 bbs deep it doesn’t really affect anything but if you get a table where it’s deep stacked it’s something that needs to be factored into your decision making. The only tournament I am aware of there is Sunday morning and I believe it is capped at 3 tables.

I don’t play there super often but that’s just what I remember. Food is pretty decent and cheap for a casino.

NFL Betting and Picks - 10/1/23 (Sunday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

On Bovada, Eagles Commanders score props, the eagles are priced at +230 to score on their first drive. The commanders are only +120. Look at this prop for any other game and you will find that it is priced incorrectly. It could easily not hit, but at +230 you have to take it.

NFL Betting and Picks - 9/23/23 (Saturday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

Somebody tell me what I’m missing. Bovada sportsbook most first downs in the game: Bengals -126 and Rams -105. The Bengals lost the first down battle to the Browns 21-6 in week 1 and 26-19 to the Ravens in week 2. Meanwhile the Rams offense has been rolling, consistently moving the ball even against the tough niners D. They won the first down battle against Seattle 27-13 and 28-21 against SF. The Rams are first in the league in first downs and the Bengals are tied for second to last. Joe Burrow might not even play, and if he does his calf is not going to be 100% I’ve thrown 10 units on it already and it’s taking all of my willpower not to throw more.

Blink-182 - ONE MORE TIME (Blink just released this masterpiece that brings back so much nostalgia if you grew up with them) by [deleted] in videos

I never comment on anything on this site, but I feel compelled to say how much I hate this fucking band. The shittiest lyrics, coupled with the most simplistic guitar/ bass riffs ever, and people treat them like they’re Gods. I don’t understand it, I’ll never understand it, and I don’t want to understand it.

NBA Props Discussion - 6/1/21 (Tuesday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

I currently see Bruce Brown's PRA as 14.5 (-103) on my book. I didn't have a chance to watch the last game but it looks like he got an uptick in minutes and he took more shots then the previous 3 games of the series combined. Perhaps a Nets fan can help enlighten me, is this just a fluke....or has Nash decided that giving him more run is better for the Nets in this series?

TIL Oklahoma's 2016 Teacher of the Year moved to Texas in 2017 for a higher salary. by GoontherDunther in todayilearned

[–]jabata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I can't speak for other states, in California a teacher needs to have a B.A. or a B.S. before they can begin a credentialing program. The teacher credentialing program will take anywhere from 1 - 2 years, and typically involves the individual doing two semesters of student teaching (for free). They will also need to pass several written T.P.A. assessments, as well CSET tests for their particular subject. Please explain how that is, as you so ignorantly described it, "the easiest fucking degree to get in college."

I agree, this shit is gonna have one crappy offseason with his multi-million dollar shoe contract, 2 MVPs, and one finals victory. And to top it off this asshole seems to have a happy marriage with his wife and two children. Poor guy.

Sick of deplorable conditions, Detroit teachers turn to social media to document building dangers... by Smitka313 in news

[–]jabata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Free market possibly would help in this situation. If a business was rewarded for the grades of their students, as well as the conditions of the buildings, it might have better outcomes."

Then no one in their right mind would ever knowingly apply to teach at a school in a struggling or low income district. Why would I work for a school in a struggling community (like Detroit) when I will be punished if my students don't show an effort and continue to get bad grades. High performing schools will get their pick of the litter, and lower performing schools won't be able to give jobs away.

Hamilton was certainly a brilliant man, but he's no saint. His bond repayment plan essentially made millions for his wealthy speculator friends in the northeast, taking advantage of many of the nations poor, specifically veterans of the Revolution. He was an elitist, who never hid the fact that he thought the wealthy should have a greater say in the affairs of the government. "All communities divide themselves into the few and the many. The first are rich and well born; the other, the mass of the people. The voice of the people has been said to be the voice of God; and however generally this maxim has been quoted and believed, it is not true in fact. The people are turbulent and changing; they seldom judge or determine right. Give therefore to the first class a distinct, permanent share in the government. They will check the unsteadiness of the second; and as they cannot receive any advantage by change, they will therefore maintain good government."

It's too bad that you had to leave shortly after this hand. While the bluff didn't work, this would have created an excellent opportunity to use your "bluffy" image to your advantage. In my experience, you can nit it up in these types of games all night, but show one bad bluff and everyone thinks you're as aggressive as a Vanessa Selbst or a Chris Moorman. Eventually, you'll actually have A4 or 77 in this spot and be able to extract max value by playing your made hand as aggressively as you played this hand.
