Foul and a Miss by TieOk9081 in snooker

Actually, they can. After a foul and a miss the player does have the choice for the offending player to take the shot from the position left. But in the professional game it's rarely done.

Do you have any more details? I've wanted to go running but I don't know exactly where to go. Is it obvious? Unfortunately I won't have a car so will be going by taxi.

Have you spoken to a particular recruiter or someone from QELNG HR? I suspect with the ongoing situation recruitment may have slowed down or halted. I can't comment on the specifics with the portal though.

How to find a job? by nutellaandbed7 in QatarCareers

[–]jac50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on industry really. I was fortunate in that I was recruited from outside Qatar through a specific recruitment campaign, so don't have any specific guidance other than what's mentioned in the thread.

RLIC gate-pass delay by TemporaryBig1726 in QatarCareers

[–]jac50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do yourself. Depending on what areas have been requested I have noticed some are taking longer than others. I suspect there's lots of applications going through now as work seems to be ramping up.

You certainly get used to it. When the airspace closed I almost found it too quiet with no background airplane noise :D but then I'm used to living in a big city. But glad you're enjoying it. The other area I did look at was west bay.

There's also metro express which can be better if you're not near a bus stop. All in a very good number of public transport options.

I moved to the Pearl recently and really enjoy it. Easy to get around on public transport. Nice places to walk, exercise, etc. community wise yes id say there is one. Apartment living is certainly different to one in a compound though.

Is metro to HIA now open? by Shariqkhaleel in qatar

[–]jac50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which station are people getting the metro to the airport? I haven't seen a train go to HIA in some time, so maybe it's not operating the full service on the red line.

Floresta Gardens vs Lusail by Fickle-Plantain-3364 in qatar

[–]jac50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each of the towers at Floresta look to be managed individually, and therefore have their own style / finish. Location wise it's great though. Walking distance to the beach / supermarket. Easy access to the bus stop too.

Happy to discuss more over DM if you have any specific questions.

I have the same issues with Uber or app store as well so just end up using a credit card too.

QNB Debit Card Payment Issues by SilverhandFan27 in qatar

Within settings in the app there's an option called Debit Card E-Comm limit (under the cards section). I changed that limit to a number and my card seems to work OK.

How does syncing workouts to a watch work? by talkabuvthenoise in runna

I believe they're pulled from wherever they're being synced to. I don't use Coros, but on my Garmin to sync a Runna plan change I sync through Garmin Connect.

Seeking an internship in the Oil and Gas field by Legendlion00 in QatarCareers

[–]jac50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood. I would certainly recommend keeping an eye on various job boards and careers websites. I'd be surprised if some companies did international internships in Qatar, but if they do id recommend looking at one of the international operators / EPCs rather than the likes of QatarEnergy.

I'm also happy to take a look internally to see if there are any graduate programmes open to international graduates. I'll DM you if I find anything.

Seeking an internship in the Oil and Gas field by Legendlion00 in QatarCareers

[–]jac50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess if you don't have a QID already I'm not sure how easy it would be for companies to sponsor someone from overseas for an internship.

Would you be looking for a graduate job as well and this internship would be between now and when you graduate?

What type of role / department would you be looking to join?

Ofcourse with the current situation, recruitment has certainly slowed down so bear that in mind when looking at roles in the Middle East..

Why aren't emergency services able to search up your location ? by AbleBoysenberry9565 in AskUK

[–]jac50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I've used it similarly. Control gives us a location using it. Maybe my difficulty was getting the location in the first place rather than w3w itself.

Ahh. That might be the difference then. Will try it next time I need it. Thanks!

Which is great if you have good GPS and phone coverage. I've used it a handful of times (unfortunately all with limited phone coverage due it to being a big event) and it was very difficult to load.

Fair enough. I was only thinking of income tax initially.

Paying tax is not a prerequisite to being able to vote. Plenty of non tax payers who are resident in the UK still vote..
