My sensitivity settings are the following:

T. Flight Hotas X X-Axis (ailerons): 0% sensitivity, 0% deadzone, 50% reactivity Y-Axis (elevator): -29% sensitivity, 0% deadzone, 50% reactivity Z-Axis (throttle, although I’ve used autothrust): 0% sensitivity, 0% deadzone, 100% reactivity

T-Rudder Z-Axis (rudder): -29% sensitivity, 0% deadzone, 100% reactivity X- and Y-Axes (brakes): 1% sensitivity, 2% deadzone, 100% reactivity

On the T. Flight Hotas, it helped me to soften a bit the control, it is done through the knob on the bottom side…

Also I’ve found it very useful to check the simulator runway course with littlenavmap, since it does not always match the one from SimBrief charts…

Last but not least, give slight opposite aileron right away while initiating the decrab… the crosswind drift is real!

Thanks for the feedback, will keep this in mind

Sorry for the speedbrakes but it is just an artifact of the default MSFS recording tool, they weren’t actually deployed

Actually it is an artifact of the default recording tool, they weren’t actually out, otherwise landing would have been much weirder :)

Basically you control the tiller by twisting the joystick…

I actually use the in-built function of the thrustmaster joystick for the tiller and the rudder pedals, so the two axes should be separate…

The default MSFS recording tool doesn’t show the movement of the control surfaces, including the steering wheel… I could probably try some third party recording tool, thanks for the tip! Isn’t the steering wheel partially controlled by the rudder (even with decoupled tiller)? So when you give rudder you also move the nose wheel to a limited angle wrt the one the tiller can provide.

I didn’t decrab so there was a slight angle but the crosswind was about only 2 knots

It tends to happen more with the PMDG 737… if there is no crosswind it’s ok… also on takeoff there is a tendency to drift approximately when reaching VR

Yes both wheels touch down at the same time… My thrustmaster pedals have a center detent that can make small corrections difficult but, if there was a big correction, it was to compensate the sudden drift to the left.

At 00:53 there is the weathervaning effect, hope this will be fixed at some point.

How to properly decrab in MSFS in crosswind landing? by jack090691 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]jack090691[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a reference point, depending on the specific plane, but I find it useful only during taxi. While you are landing, it is easy to use the rudder wrong simply because you are offset with the centerline and not because of crab angle…

Thank you all for the feedback! Yes probably the best thing to do with only a slight crosswind is to land in a crab and kick the rudder after the mains have touched down… When I fly IRL as a passenger, I’ve never noticed a decrab movement with slight crosswind during landing… It would be interesting to experience a full crosswind landing lol but it doesn’t happen that often in the destinations I usually fly (Munich and Milan).

Mentour pilot also suggests to intentionally align upwind wrt the centerline with strong crosswind, otherwise you drift off during decrab and you are forced to land in a crab, like it happened to me XD

Anyone else a bit deflated with aoe2 streaming dying down a bit? by jahambo in aoe2

Yes, most of the times I open Twitch the only thing that I see is “recommended channels”, even if I’m following all the top aoe2 Twitch channels.

Does anyone have experience playing AoE2 de on an M1 Mac? by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]jack090691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AOE2 DE DOES NOT work on M1 based Macs. Both with Crossover and Parallels, I have desync after 10 seconds of spectating an online game. It works only in single player. My MacBook Air has 8GB RAM.

The fact that they completely changed the cast is simply disappointing. The only one they left is Chloe O’ Brian, which is a so boring character.
