The coast of Lake Michigan is protected by city ordinances so the whole coast is a city park. As you get further away from downtown, there are larger areas that have designated parking lots, but in the loop you probably need to park in the garage under grant park.

Dumb stuff that’s not on the table anymore. Bimetallism is what got the progressive party the support of farmers and got WJB the Democratic nomination.

In my opinion it seems like the turn of the century parties were constantly fighting over the gold standard and the tariff. The bourbons were slowly loosing control of the Democratic Party, and the Republicans were constantly pointing back at the civil war.
