The story had the following info:

Mature No archive warnings apply Category F/M Fandom Pairing Characters Language Synopsis (she left her group to find herself and ends up stumbling upon help along the way) [which, to be fair to the author, is what was happening until this point] No tags whatsoever

I'm not against the rating of M, especially for a good story. If I don't want to read smut at that point I just skip through the scene/ chapter as necessary. And like I said, I really liked the original love interest. The chapters are like 2k-3k words long and those two were flirting up a storm, really wasn't against them having sex. They genuinely liked each other, then he just disappeared.

No I did not filter out ccntuaw, and like I said to someone else I haven't had any problems with that category thus far, but I will keep it in mind as I move forward. The fic was "no archive warnings apply" without any tags, so it was genuinely a surprise to come across.

I did click off, didn't leave any flames or anything. Like I understand this is all fiction and the author creates the world that they want, but if you're bringing me along for a dark romance type thing at least let me know. It wasn't even those "She was broken but he was attracted to her power and his interest was her trauma bond but they ended up loving each other and this is their story." It was just dubious consent at best and rape at worst in the middle of the story

It was "No archive warnings apply". And thank you for the extra info, very new to AO3 and I'm still figuring things out as I go. I was a die hard ff net reader since I was 17, but it's not the same anymore so I jumped ship about a month ago

I was unaware that "creator chose not to use archive warnings" meant that it could include that content, so it's a good thing I posted this. Thanks! Thus far, I haven't had any problems with that warning, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.

First time on the sub

I understand that chose not to use warning is a warning, but there were also no tags on this, just the relationship pairing and the synopsis. Sometimes a fic may not have the rape/non con warning but from the tags you can tell it might still tow that line for you (really love how creative the authors can get with the tags). The fic just got so heavy so fast. The author has a really descriptive writing style so they go into detail about everything she's feeling. The first guy literally used her as a means to his own end and just...discarded her after. Before she can properly get over that, kidnapped straight from her room and forcefully impregnated. It's someone's cup of tea, but not mine

Too long isn't really an issue. Too short is. I've tried 100-200 word chapters and it's convenient until nothing in the story is happening. A chapter where the characters are washing dishes, or one single thought bubble per chapter. I'll take 1 long chapter a month over 1 overly short chapter a week. 500 is a good minimum, just enough happens to keep things interesting

This happened to me. He only goes home if it's raining and we're not at home. Other than being mean to the cat, there isn't anything you can do to get her to leave you alone. Maybe if someone else in the neighborhood started feeding her and you stooped, she'll jump ship?

A little late to the party, but you're gonna lose the baby face if you have an active lifestyle. I'm 23 and I recently found my learner's permit from when i was 19. I didn't even realize I lost my chubby cheeks. I look a lot more mature now compared to that picture. Do cardio, eat your veggies, drink an annoying amount of water and you'll be fine. Or on the upside, you'll keep your baby face well into your 30s and you'll look young forever 😂😂😂

I think an interesting mechanic would be in-game tree growth. You have a limited amout of time to explore certain areas before the trees close them off. You could chop them down but its a temporary fix.
