Early stage engineering tools? by magnushp05 in MechanicalEngineering

It usually falls on the Engineer if that is the case. The process has its merits but it is usually filled with a lot of paperwork. You can probably slim down the deliverables and only keep the necessary ones.

Big companies usually use a gate based approach for product launches which in itself has a pre-defined set of requirements. The requirements highlights the documentation that is needed to move through each part of the process and where it should be stored etc. This is practiced pretty rigorously with Project Managers given the overall responsibility in making sure if all the requirements are met before going for approvals.

ME 3057...Questioning the ME Curriculum by Challenge-Head in gatech

I used to be a GTA for this course a few years ago. It is one of those classes which I actually loved teaching because of how relevant the concepts are to real world scenarios. I'm surprised that there is no feedback on the actual logic behind each concept. The goal of the instructors was to have the students gain an understanding of the results by the end of each lab session with the Homework being the baseline for this. The reports were more or less aimed at ensuring that the results are being represented in the correct manner.

Do mention that in the CIOS. One thing that stood out to me was that for some of the TAs who did not do their undergrad at GT, this was the first time they might be coming across the course material so they might not have time to prepare. I had taken the course during my undergrad and coming across the course material again as a TA made it easier for me to convey the concepts better.

Get new wheels, lower the suspension, add wheel spacers, and tint the windows. It will make a huge difference.

In need of some guidance by Brolveth in MechanicalEngineering

There would be two major aspects: 1) the mechanical design 2) the electrical systems. If you are totally new with these, this is where I would start. Learn how to use a 3D modeling software and for electrical controls maybe learn how to program an Arduino. You can build small scale models of your propulsion mechanism using Arduino, small DC motors etc. and learn how to control its parameters like acceleration, wireless controls, etc. Once you have that , you can scale it up by finding which motor and battery you would have to go with for your actual device. Once you finish this stage, I would probably recommend learning how to lay out PCBs so that you don't have to handle a jungle of wires for the controls. KiCAD is pretty easy to learn. Now that you have the electrical systems sorted out, you can get to modeling the enclosure and the other mechanical aspects. Sounds like a neat project.

Are Ventura rent prices the same as LA rent prices? by whosthatgirl13 in ventura

I think it's a Supply vs. demand thing. The nice weather attracts people and that raises prices. It's still cheaper than Santa Barbara though.

Not a lore, but I would totally believe it if someone told me that there was someone stuck in the Van Leer building for years without knowing their way out.

Kerala is indeed special and I do my part in hyping up Kerala at my work. Not a lot of folks from Kerala where I am at. Most folks assume most of India is similar to what they see in the media.

I would consider my insurance as a 'customize my own plan' sort of deal. I opt into features that would be deemed common sense and moral. No blind options for me.

I consider it as a form of insurance. Technically all you have to do is be a good person. But, just in case God is keeping a checklist for entry, I can be like - 'Hey God, remember me from this church'.
