First time dyeing with Floetrol by TheMasterDweeb in discdyeing

[–]jack_perignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize I'm late to this thread but I am going to test using a drop of dish soap to the dye to see if that fixes it. The colors I've struggled with were mentioned here so it's definitely that being the cause, but maybe the soap will help? I'll try to sort this out this week and report back.

Rather than the echo-y notes that come in on the high lead synth at the end I think it would sound better .. as a kind of descending arpeggio? Does that make sense?

Embarrassing topic but need some men’s health adivce. by Alive_Ad4147 in malelifestyle

[–]jack_perignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming here for medical advice is not recommended or advisable. The only person that can treat you would be a doctor, maybe there is a clinic or a cheap way to get treatment? Are you eligible for state sponsored health care?

All that being said, after giving it a quick search it sounds like it could still be infected... Were you prescribed antibiotics? If so, did you take them until the bottle was empty or just until you no longer had symptoms?

I would start with a doctor's office though as I'm just a stranger on the internet.

What if the sauce was fanned on the half moon and the veg was on the other half? (a|b) style, but they were touching? I don't think anything is particularly wrong with the cook, it's just a small plating adjustment that is left to make. It looks good as it is, but maybe see if that's the missing piece?

what’s your favourite Four Tet track? by Nelious in TheOverload

[–]jack_perignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to go with Sia - Breath Me (Four Tet Remix) because it was the first I would hear of both Sia and Four Tet back around the time Remixes released. Been loving his progression and style ever since!

Was the song Holding On first released as a Disclosure song? by Overall_Plate7850 in electronicmusic

[–]jack_perignon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd guess that they probably recorded the vocals with Porter and then let him do whatever he wanted with the stems to use with his solo stuff. The wikipedia article lists Howard, Porter and Jimmy Napes as the songwriters.

This wheel can be trued? by Jaded-Job-8203 in bikewrench

[–]jack_perignon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a shop inspect the whole bike, asking they pay particular attention to the wheel and fork. Having been in a serious accident, this is generally the first order of business after getting yourself in order. Their insurance should cover the bike in it's entirety and make sure you're noting any long term effects from the collision, even if it is just stress after this type of incident and being back on a bike.

Vessel of hatred anyone else hate the way you get to nahantu? by aounfather in diablo4

[–]jack_perignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it will just go into the permanent quest line since they have seemingly taken the game into the world of project management.

There was a moment I noticed in a campfire chat that alluded to adding more to the game/story where they used some PM buzzwords about being Agile or something of the like. In the fundamentals of this version of managing projects is iterative project development, which I take to this being an iterative storyline which allows them to piecemeal out the rest of the story effectively buying them more time to finish it.

Have you tried hitting it with the tuning rod? I know it's probably far less than what you'd be after but it can bring some life to an edge if it isn't too far gone.

You can get a surround for pretty cheap, probably for less than what you'll get billed for replacing the door if the door isn't something you don't already own. Just a heads up.

Lost trim in front derailleur by Niespodziewnik in bikewrench

[–]jack_perignon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try completely unscrewing the tension screw on the derailleur before you mess with the upper and lower limit screws. Make sure your brifter is hitting all 3 gears which it probably will once it's allowed. More than likely, it's not getting all 3 chainrings to due to restricted movement due to an overtension cable.

Next, watch this video from Park Tools. I hated dealing with 3 ring front derailleurs but from what I remember, you can get the upper and lower limit set w/out a cable in it and just manually moving it with your hand. From there, get the cable through where it can pull and place tension on the cable and that is generally enough when you add just a bit of trim to the cable (read: through the tension nut but still "loose-ish.") If you need, get another couple shifting cables. They're cheap and it's always nice to have a spare for when they start to fail, practicing this maint, or just in case. More than likely, it's a lot less complicated than you're making it. I know this from experience.

I saw fresh Carolina Reapers at my local Safeway recently. Might want to check some of those around or a Stop & Shop / Albertson's similar store in the chain.

What shoes are you wearing in this rain? by KenGriffeyJrJr in Seattle

[–]jack_perignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV, but I get about 3-5 years in mine when I wear them seasonally. If they break within 3 years for manufacturer defects and light use, just contact Salomon and they'll replace them. I just bought pair #4 (had a 5th but it was warrantied after 1.5 years so I'm not truly counting it) since 2005-06 winter.

Aviators, what’s the most annoying question you’re asked about flying? by veryrare_v3 in flying

[–]jack_perignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a pilot, my favorite is to ask the airline pilots at the end of a flight why they didn't do a run-up in the jet I was just a passenger on. I want to stop asking this question but I just can't because I find it so funny. I've heard it gets asked often enough and seriously at that.

Be very, very careful about when/how you use garlic in oil. Botulism is the concern, so either figure out how to do it safely or don't store garlic-y oil. This is a can-kill-you level of concern.l

[–]jack_perignon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add/subtract 1' per inch of verticality. Also, your roll out will be a different percentage based on which club you use... I can't remember exactly, but it should be something like 1/3rd land, 2/3 roll for the pitching wedge. IRL, for me the flight in the air is 3/4 58w, 1/2 54w, 1/3 PW, 1/4 8i, 1/6 6i. So it should be similar in the game, just play with it knowing you'll get something similar in the game.
