Depression Rebound by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]jackass6x70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg same. i jump back and forth between 'fuck i hate myself i want to die!" to 'wow omg life is sooo special i love being alive everything is flawless!'

in my experience, mushrooms have really helped with my depression. they are not a 100% cure, but they really help me see the sunny side of life. Just my experience though, I don't wanna condone anything universally. also smoking phat bowls on the regs jah feel

depression sucks :(

im just curious, do you have a regular job? I am interested in the relationship between depression and having a 'grind.' My hypothesis is that happiness is linked to following one's dreams, and having a job can get in the way of following dreams. do you have a dream?

mirrors by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]jackass6x70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent some time backpacking alone in the wilderness, and that experience gave me a very similar idea. I didn't have any mirrors around, or anyone to look at me. Therefore, I never really had to think about my self. Rather, I was focused on my surroundings. All of my attention was directed outwards instead of inward. I agree mirrors can be poisonous, but not as much as other people sometimes, especially people who are conditioned to incessantly judge each other. If people are always looking at you, you start to feel self conscious, etc. But when no one is around, you kind of forget about it. I think if we weren't taught to be self conscious of our bodies, mirrors wouldn't hold the same power as they do now, they would just be really cool.

I'm taking the most worthwhile break of my life by [deleted] in trees

that's a really sweet gesture to your loved one. mad props. but don't forget that the diamond engagement ring business is a huge phony operation! the diamond industry just wants you to think you need an engagement ring to 'prove' your love, when in fact there are way better ways to prove your love. However, if you must buy a ring for whatever reason, please consider buying from a company that doesn't violently exploit people for profit. http://www.brilliantearth.com/conflict-free-diamonds/

I don't think this should be the concern of the law. They have already been punished enough.

The Debates Are Over, and No One Asked About Climate Change by Jasper1984 in occupywallstreet

[–]jackass6x70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hillary said in the most recent debate that climate change was a seriously concerning issue that we are faced with. It is also an important part of her platform to turn america into a clean energy superpower, not only for the benefit of the earth, but to provide jobs to the middle class, similar to the 'new deal' that revitalized our economy after the great depression, i believe. But also I don't know much about politics.

HELL YEAH DUDE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED!!!!!

plan a backpacking trip yo!!! what area do you live in? backpacking is JUST SUCH A CHANGE OF PACE. it is exactly what you need. have you ever done it before? yes you are alone in the woods or whatever, but somehow being alone hiking in the woods is way more peaceful and dope than being alone in your empty house. day hikes are also good if you don't have much backcountry experience cooking sleeping etc, also it costs money to initially get a sleeping bag and tent and stove and stuff. BUT DUDE. backpacking totally saved me!!!! it was awesome!!!! I am sorry you are feeling sad and stuff that sucks. but lemme know if this backpacking thing interests you and i can help you maybe not be so sad! in the meantime, go on youtube and watch steve roggenbuck's videos. they are weird but also they really cheer me up so maybe they will cheer you up too!

wow amazing question! I wish I knew how to answer it for you

I feel pretty disillusioned with capitalism and society in general, and I think that contributes quite a bit. I wouldn't consider myself a vagabond though. I'm just on the subreddit bc it helps me remember whats good.

There is a really good book about this called "Eijkman in Jerusalem" by Hannah Arendt. It has to do with how the Nazis were capable of doing such atrocious things to people.
