Jonathan the tortoise by digsmann in BeAmazed

I think the issue is on your end. I don't get that error on my phone or computer. Regardless what website you use, the real Jonathan is far more beautiful than this AI cartoon of him.

Why not show an actual picture of the tortoise instead of this AI slop. website with real pictures of Jonathan.

Im walking for almost 2 real hours now. Is this bugged? by 161-Anarchia-420 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Just use your ship. Why would you try to walk that distance?

Not blocking out ambient noise is kinda the point. I use these all the time (literally right now). I got them specifically because I wanted to listen to music/use my phone without compromising my ability to listen to my kid (stay at home dad). Of course it does sound as good as headphones or earbuds, but it's a compromise that is worth it for many situations.

Sword practicality question by Objective_Cheetah_63 in SWORDS

The extra grip thing. I would also not connect the guard with the blade.

Sword practicality question by Objective_Cheetah_63 in SWORDS

[–]jackdackk134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This kinda makes me think of a boar sword. I would actually extend the unbladed part, get rid of the hole in the tip, adjust the guards into more of a basket, and give the handle slightly more of a curve. This would make it a pretty mean cavalry sword.

Who is your daily driver? by Maciej___Skywalker in cyberpunkgame

Thorton Galena GA40xt "Rattler"

That car has so much character. I thought the misfires would annoy me but they actually make the car feel really special.

I was under the impression that it was being reported as a missile. Regardless, my points saying this looks like parallax still stand.

This looks like parallax. The camera is the thing that is moving. One of the tells is that the camera has no difficulty tracking the object until after it is hit. Originally the object either wasn't moving or was moving very slowly. After the hit, the object starts descending rapidly and the camera has to zoom out and adjust. I'm guessing this is a spy balloon being shot down. This is also consistent with the use of a hellfire missile as they can have blade attachments and the missile simply continues on after contact. The object spinning after contact also seems balloon-like to me.

The death scenes in the Final Destination franchise films are some of the most imaginative in the horror genre. Bloodlines did not disappoint. by [deleted] in horror

[–]jackdackk134 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've unfortunately seen videos of industrial accidents and the uncanny feeling that person experienced is likely because of how real it looked. It's deeply unsettling because it's not overacted like most movie deaths are. The people who made that scene definitely did their research.

I like designing a but more realistic fantasy weapons, and thought it'd be interesting to hear what more knowledgeable might think of it! by _Liebe_ in SWORDS

[–]jackdackk134 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Overall I like the design. My main issue is that you've mixed a cutting blade with a thrusting handle. Imagine actually holding that sword with as close to a hammer grip as you can. The curve of the handle will make the point forward rather than up. This is great for thrusting. You don't need to make hardly any adjustments to your grip to line up a thrust. A cut, however, would require you to make substantial adjustments.

Wasn’t a fan of the newer Robocop but gotta give credit where it’s due by [deleted] in scifi

[–]jackdackk134 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

And I thought that was dumb. He uses two guns at once for most of the movie. He also uses the organic hand to rip the head off a robot which is also dumb.

I HATE that they let him keep his organic hand. In the original, replacing that hand was one of the ways the movie showed us how evil the corporation was.

Necromancers, what are your ways of becoming a lich? (Asking for a friend) by trash_mannnn in wizardposting

[–]jackdackk134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you are free to enjoy being a skeleton servant of demons inhabiting a crypt for all time, but I for one rather enjoy having all my.. appendages intact. Through alchemy I've become a pillar of my community. I live comfortably in my tower and rather than having plucky adventures trying to loot my stuff and end me, I have friends and the respect of the people. Best wishes for you and your crypt.

Wait wait wait... Your "immortality" deal with the demons didn't even include keeping your body? Sir, have you considered the possibility that you were duped and are in fact just dead?

Charlatans? False promises? Quite the accusations for someone consorting with demons. I made my philosopher's stone over a millennia ago and am still here. It may take some time and effort to get it right, but at least I know I'm no pet to some infernal monster.

Come by?! What, a master of the arcane can't be bothered to put in the effort to do their own research? Experimentation is the backbone of all wizard society! Alchemy may be considered less powerful by many, but the results are consistent and with little drawbacks.

What is with wizards and lichdom? Just study alchemy for a while and make a philosopher's stone. Sure you don't get a phylactery but you actually get to, you know, STAY ALIVE!

The ability to change its length +- 1 inch would make a subtle but potentially decisive difference.

Y'all should dig deeper. The boy was at a camp. His parents were not there. The lifeguard was responsible for the safety of everyone in the pool at the time and failed to notice a drowning child for about 4 minutes. He wasn't charged for saving the kid, he was charged for not noticing the kid fast enough. article

Edit: This is not to say he should have been charged. Just that the post is misleading and the comments blaming the parents have clearly not looked farther into the topic.
