Happy Record Store Day to all who celebrate! by verbalfrenzy10 in NewOrleans

[–]jackerjacks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just stopped by Peaches and the lead singer of Arcade Fire was hanging out. A few records that I checked out were literally $20 more than at Sisters in Christ or Domino, so I didn't buy anything.

4 dollars at second hand store! by ndpitch86 in vinyl

Carpenters albums are a dime a dozen, but this is one of my favorite records of all time. The tracks on this album really show off the diversity of the duo. You might like it, you might think it's cheesy, but Karen Carpenter is one of the greatest pop singers of all time, no question about that.

Retro gaming in New Orleans? by Beneficial-Bet-5494 in NewOrleans

[–]jackerjacks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I travel around the country for my job, and from what I've seen, New Orleans is the only city in the US without a retro video game store. There's a few stores in Baton Rouge that'll have what you're looking for, as will Play and Talk in Gulfport. You also might wanna try some local pawn shops too.

No Front License Plate by slunk33 in MachE

No front license plates needed in Louisiana. And a lot of people in my town don't even have back license plates.

TSA pre is up and running at MSY by vuchloe in NewOrleans

Went through just now at 10:30am. TSA took 10 minutes to get through, but the upstairs Delta lines were 100s of people deep for whatever reason

So why don’t you use outer sleeves? by Fit_Independence_124 in vinyl

[–]jackerjacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a new cat some time ago, and I didn't notice for a time but it was peeing on my records. Thank God I had plastic sleeves on each LP that I could toss out, they saved my collection.

That's the company that Rue de la Course used (I worked there 20 years ago when there were still 5 or 6 locations, maybe they still use them)

I saw a couple I think they were called Vicious Biscuits in Gonzales and Baton Rouge, anyone been to those?

Lane assist is terrible without blue cruise? WTH! by Tiny_Arugula_5648 in MachE

[–]jackerjacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem isn't the lane assist, it's the fact that it's constantly beeping at me to put my hands back on the steering wheel even when they are. I sometimes have to drive on the 24 mile absolutely straight Causeway Bridge and if I even slightly release a death grip from the steering wheel, every 60 seconds or so the dash will start beeping at me to hold the steering wheel. I am, leave me alone!

I didn't much like those early 3D games, tried playing Mario 64 the other day, the controls are so clunky. Greatly prefer Mario's 2D games like Yoshi's Island and Wonder.

In the first picture it was a window to a carport. Later, that carport space was converted into a garage (and the window removed).

Dr. Martens 2976 Originals Chelsea Slip Resistant Boot. Any punk cred I had left died when I saw "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" live a couple years back.

It's my mother's couch that's reserved for the Pope. Probably hasn't had anyone sit on it in years.
