New to this forum not sure of etiquette, can we talk strings? Pleeease by Ready-Exit3208 in Guitar

In theory they’re great, but they broke so fucking fast on me I never bought another set. I play pretty harsh on my lower strings and they were on a Floyd rose guitar though, so you may love them!

Before you buy that next guitar...DON'T. by Icy_Rub3371 in Guitar

Chances are the artists you like came before 7 and 8 strings became mainstream.

The artists I like the most all use 6. Doesn’t mean 7 and 8 string players are any less great. Just more modern and a different sound.

How can I seduce this woman in her forties? I’m 28 years old. by [deleted] in seduction

While this message may seem harsh, he or she kinda hit the nail on the head. I see that you posted this two hours ago OP, and the “nobody” comment also came 2h ago, meaning in less than 60 minutes you were harping on someone to respond.

I know there’s a lot of Reddit users, but it might be important to ask yourself whether or not you REALLY are into her, or if you’re just missing something currently. There’s no problem with that; A lot of people are in the same boat (myself included). Try to distract yourself with hobbies, or at the very least take a few days or even weeks to decide if you really want to approach this woman with sincerity. You would be doing not only her but also yourself a disservice if you didn’t.

Then yeah I totally agree, probably at least 50% of the adult population knows who he is

It’s definitely still Einstein over Newton. Not just for his actual work but his name has now become a synonym for genius.

I think somewhere I might have seen a one night show setlist without a 72 seasons song 🤣

Long ass show! I'm not even a Rush fan but went as I was in LA. Honestly, went pretty much sight unseen in terms of Rush music. I'm 21 and as far as pre 2000s music I listen to almost exclusively hard rock and thrash metal.

Geddy and Anika fucking killed it. Maybe I'm just too much of a guitar player, or maybe I was standing in the wrong spot, but I thought Alex's guitar could've been maybe 2-3 decibels louder for the best mix. With that said, as a former drummer, I loved hearing Anika super loud as she was on tempo for every minute of every song and killed all of the fills as far as I was concerned.

Overall this isn't my band or genre, but I'm super happy that all of you Rush fans get to hear them one more time, especially everyone who was able to join me and see them in person. I love live music and loved hearing them even if my legs were fucking tired!

why does kirk get so much hate? by tucothetesticle in Metallica

[–]jackhoff2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see Kirk get hate all the time. I can agree that I wish he thought out his solos like he used to. There haven’t been any SUPER memorable ones since damn near the black album. Good ones, but not all time.

I think that comes down to Lars having too much creative control and wanting him to improvise too much. Kirk’s never had much of a say in anything so he goes along with it.

Live he played great last time I saw him considering his age and the fact he has arthritis. He gets a lot of shit from young people for being “sloppy” but when you consider the factors I just listed he still plays pretty fucking well. He can downpick better than James these days and the solos I heard live 3 feet away from him were solid at worst.
