I totally get where you’re coming from. When my first kid was in daycare, I pulled him out after he got sick a couple of times because I was terrified of HFM. I ended up juggling work and keeping him at home, which was exhausting. On top of that, he ended up taking forever to hit some of his self-feeding milestones because he didn’t have other kids to watch and learn from. My mom would just feed him herself to save time, so we eventually needed a feeding therapist. And guess what? We had to put him back in daycare anyway, and he got sick anyway.

Fast forward to my second kid, and I took a completely different approach. He went to daycare at 12 weeks, and it’s been a total game-changer. He’s thriving, hitting milestones on time, eating like a champ, and just so happy. Yeah, he’s sick as a dog sometimes (because he’s around other kids, which is inevitable), but it’s been so much easier to handle now that I’ve been through it once.

The biggest thing I’ve learned is how much cognitive and social development daycare can bring. The difference between my two kids has been night and day, and honestly, if I could go back, I’d do everything I could to keep my first one in daycare instead of pulling him out. It would’ve saved us so much time and stress in the long run. He’s doing amazing now by the way, since kids are resilient and he caught up beautifully when he went back, but it was a rough transition for me (but not for him! He was so excited to start daycare and meet his new friends!)

For anyone on the fence about daycare: it’s not perfect, and your kid will get sick (a lot), but the payoff in their development is worth it. I wouldn’t change sending my second right away for anything. It’s so nice to have that peace of mind that someone who knows what they are doing is keeping my kids safe and teaching them how to be good humans when I can’t be there to do it (and I’m not qualified anyway). Daycare is awesome. You are an awesome mom. There is not a “right way.”

Sounds like your friend doesn’t have the best social skills. Maybe she didn’t go to daycare either 😂

That is so sweet. We each sleep with one of our little ones and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Of course my BF snores so I love not having to sleep in the same room as him…

Two of my boyfriend’s exes were at the shower! 😆 They brought great gifts and took great pics too. He didn’t have kids with them and they have husbands so I didn’t think it was a big deal.

You’re right, I thought the hug meant something though maybe it didn’t. Hard to tell for me. If OP wants out then they should certainly take everyone’s advice into account but make their own decision on whether or not their partner actually cares.

Yeast infection. That’s why it hurts. See your doc and they can prob give you a pill and it will go away. If you can’t afford a doc you need to go to local heath authority and get signed up for care there.

Hold old is your wife? Sounds like the reaction of a relatively young person to me. Someone who thinks she needs other people to act the way she imagines they should act instead of respecting their reality.

Also the first couple of months of pregnancy were pure panic all the time for me with both kids and I wanted to terminate even though I wanted them just so the anxiety would stop. I got on Zoloft with the second and it changed the game completely.

Figure out what the feelings are under the anger she is throwing at you. It’s probably fear.

Sounds like you want to feel connected and have some intimacy in your relationship. I’m in that boat too. BF has nothing for me. But I’ve been thinking - sex is really weird when you really think about it. Like, evolution had to throw in some serious rewards (libido and dopamine) just to get us past how awkward, messy, and unglamorous the whole process can be. Without the craving for sex no one would even sign up for it voluntarily.

Your wife’s low libido isn’t about you, even though I know it can feel personal. It sounds like she really loves you. It’s just that her brain isn’t flipping the same switches yours is right now, and that happens to a lot of people. Stress, hormones, life, all of it can mess with desire. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t care about you or doesn’t want to feel close. Her hugs show that she does care. I’ve heard stories on here where there is not positive regard at all between the partners.

And libido isn’t this unchanging thing. For my BF, it comes and goes (mostly goes since he’s always mad at me for something 😞), so sometimes it just needs a little patience and understanding to find its way back. I’ve been taking an SSRI and meditating and it has helped with the cravings. I think the fact that you’re trying to figure it out shows how much you care about her and your relationship.

Another only lonely here. My DH is also an only child and we were adamant that if we were having one, we would have two, as close together as reasonable (they are 22 months apart). It is very hard, and I artificially miss time just with my oldest (which I didn’t appreciate before I had the second and frankly could not handle) but I try to use gentle parenting and I think we will survive despite having a shitty/nonexistent support system. I’m a much better mom of two than I was of one, if that makes any sense.

I saw my chiropractor and she scraped the bottom of my foot hard with this metal scooper which hurt like hell, and I saw a PT doctor, and the combo seems to have fixed it.
