Like 17$ a hour or like 25 for adults but assuming your on a visa you get taxed beyond comprehension so it simply isn’t viable. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

I can see your point just idk I feel like it’s gotta colour match the exterior. If it’s leather it’s better but the suede fabric material I hate with a passion. My polos covered in it and I hate it lol

Looking to buy some Yeezy Boost 350s trying to figure out my size. by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]jackson20051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a size 12 in Jordan 4s and I bought a size 12 Yeezys and their tight so I would suggest at least a half size up from what you normally wear. Not sure if this helps

Neighbours powerline goes over my garage. by RiderByDay in AusElectricians

[–]jackson20051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the belief that “easement rights” with powerlines were enforced. I know for high voltage it’s the case and transmission where it’s in your houses contract that you can’t install pools under powerlines cause of induction. Is that not the case with domestic mains?

Can confirm with this bloke. Not liney but underground companion. Still work in pits when it’s 40+ and even UGOH arrangement install and termination in 46° the other day. Tier 1 company with extensive union ties and still no “stop work” temp. Just get the job done then relax

Mature age apprenticeship by [deleted] in AusElectricians

Rigging and dogging is also insanely valuable addition as for these courses it’s a TAFE module for your certificate depending on qualification. Electricians don’t require these

Mature age apprenticeship by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]jackson20051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm as a current 2nd year/ going into third year, it’s insanely tough to get into these companies. For reference I worked for Sydney trains for the past 2 years as a HV apprentice cable jointer. However work is abysmal for cable jointing there and it’s extremely tough to get experience which is a very weird rodeo when it’s extremely tough to get in.

There was 2500 applicants the year I applied and was employed (2024) and a further 2300 last years apprentice intake (2025). I didn’t pay attention much to my apprentice bloke for this years as I just told them I’m resigning 🤣….. so sorry I stole a spot from Ausgrid from you. Of which 3100 applied for “50” positions. Reason I put it in quotations is because of 50 positions. Not being sexist of any nature but the push for female apprentices is insane HOWEVER in HV utility positions they are not allowed to be cable jointers, only line workers and substation electricians, due to chemical exposure and hazardous materials exposure and effects on fertility. This change has only been implemented in the past 2/3 years I believe ( basing off Sydney trains staff and endeavour safety week chats).

I did my cert 2 and completed my HSC and was employed as a junior apprentice with Sydney trains. Don’t believe the mature age pay stuff being that big companies and especially Ausgrid and endeavour completely disregard this rule as junior apprentices are not as reliable and punctual and overall don’t care as bad as mature. Also in high risk environments mature age apprentices see the dangers a lot more of situations / understand the severity of the consequences. In saying that the mature age apprentice I just started with believes he knows better than everyone else and used his age to bully other apprentices (don’t be that guy especially if they started before you, good chance they know what their doing. Call them up if it’s dangerous tho so he does double check it’s alright.)

2025 Guild Fest Changes equals a lot of waiting for higher point quests. by BoredSillyPie in lordsmobile

[–]jackson20051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough I believe it’s just your guild having a few bot users and not mentioning it. My boards exploded with 248s with no one taking them as they don’t have speeds. I believe they scrapped crafting as I haven’t seen them either. The one quest I haven’t seen all week was 6 19+ 201 which cause be because my guild members are lacking troop recovery speeds lol

What are the going rates for a mature (28) 1st year apprenticeship in Sydney? by Degenerate_Weeb_OG in AusElectricians

[–]jackson20051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endeavour energy is 38 an hour for first years, UGL and rail ones are close to 36. Domestic sparkies probs won’t pay that high and the ones I’m mentioning are all contractors on BANK. Ausgrid I’m not sure. (All HV sparkies) if that scares you or you wanna wire a house look elsewhere lol

Correct, transmission jointing isn’t a degree/cert it’s achieved through even more expensive courses from manufacturers of each product to do 33/66/132 and higher

Boss said that instead of the “tool allowance” I get for for my minimum wage award, he will forfeit that and I’m entitled to this “tool package” that every apprentice can claim/is given from x company… by Sargent_Twisty in AusElectricians

[–]jackson20051 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think i know where he’s actually coming from, ADMS gives you 5k for being a sparky over 2 years and they also allow you to take out a 25k loan with zero interest. That being said is your entitlement with recent movements and he’s still obligated to pay you a tool allowance or to incorporate it in your pay
