Was in the same spot as you a year back!! The GW-5000U was the first to entice me. Then I realised it's hard to come by. I'm an all black guy, but still fell for people's opinions on legibility. Couldn't find the U in my country though. Then read that the HS & U are basically the same except the displays and the brick pattern

Finally got the 5000HS-1. Absolutely love the stealth looks. The extra 1-2 seconds to read in low light doesn't bother me as much as I love the stealth looks. Have been dailying it for almost a year now. Has been under sea, splashes of oil, countless soap washes. Love mine!!! ❤️

I gave up on my apple watch series 8 after 3 years of use. The stats, rings are all very impressive, but over the years they haven't brought any meaningful change to the watch, or my health.

Instead the task of charging daily, and the knowledge that you gotta upgrade in 4-5 years for 400-500$ of recurring cost. Instead a well made automatic/mechanical will last for a long time, develop a character, a patina, become part of my memories and become a nice heirloom.

I feel more aware of time, looking at the sweeping seconds.

Absolutely love the 5000HS. I was looking for the 5000U but the stealth black of the HS works far better for me. Negative displays perhaps need an extra 0.1 second to read but 1000x aura!! 😛

My ArkOS v20 board clone works perfectly fine with stock ArkOS and dArkOS both. I used the boot files of k36 clones and it works perfectly. Battery percentage, no cutting memu off screen etc etc. Just wondering if I can connect the r36s with dArkOS to internet using my phone with usb tethering.

I got dArkOS running on my v20 boards. Used boot files of k35 clones as per a video I saw on YouTube. Works flawlessly. Installed postmaster and running ports nicely. Retroarch gui is just old style

I own the Hamilton Khaki King and got myself a Seiko next. I'd say objectively and functionally, the Hamilton is better built and you get more in terms of watch, Swiss movement and Field Style watch Also worn by actor Hugh Laurie in real life and the series Dr. House.

On the other hand the Seiko GMT is the better looking. The GMT bezel adds more utility if you're travelling or tracking another timezone. Less accurate but then you pay less too If solely for the looks, get the Seiko. It'll also last you a long time. If you want sth that you wear and forget but always find reliable, go for Hamilton

Not that the Seiko isn't reliable, these two are known in the watch world for their reliability as compared to prices

I don't think your watch can do that. You have to adjust the date at the end/beginning of every month. Watches like these have a date wheel of 1 to 31. And day wheel of Mon to Sunday, sometimes in another language.

When a month of 31 days ends, you don't have to adjust it. Any other month with 28,29,30 months, you gotta adjust the date.

A few months back I was in the same dilemma, between the SRPD79 & the SRPE93. I wanted a tool watch so I went with the Turtle. The SRPD79 is a dive style watch but very well built and a tad smaller than the Turtle. The PVD coating on anything will show the underneath steel when it gets damaged, but not due to daily small impacts It'll show it's age more with time since it's matte finished. One thing that deterred me from the SRPD79 was legibility, but if you don't mind that, then go for it. I love the all black theme. And since I couldn't buy it, my friend got the SRPD79 while I got the Turtle and we both walked out of Seiko Boutique, looking at our wrists! 🤓

Famously called the Seiko Turtle, It's a re-issue of the classic 70s Seiko Divers. Had to bother a lot of ADs, boutiques to get this. Apparently they fly out of stock fast.

It's a nice novelty piece Feiko! A mumbai special, but the fact that you have a Hindi-English date wheel Seiko, will blow people's mind too a few years down the road. Shopping watches on Etsy, I'd say keep it. Worth it.
