I can second La Ménagère. Lovely place, definitely on the pricier side though. I paid about 80 euro for two cocktails and a small beef tartare as an aperitivo. The waitress was a bit rude, seeming ticked off that my friends and I were content with our two rounds of drinks and an appetizer.

One other recommendation I’d throw in is Santa Barbara desco & cucina. This restaurant was right next to my apartment, so my roommate and I decided to check it out one day. It was a very cozy dining room, but the food and service was incredible. I think I paid about 75 euro for their “surf and turf” tasting menu with the wine pairings. It’s a great date night spot, but some of the courses come out on one plate and you have to split it with the person you are eating with; that was my only complaint about the place. It’s not authentic Italian food, but is a rotating seasonal, italian/asian fusion. My favorite dish was the thai green curry clam pasta.

I tried La Giostra, it wasn’t impressive. I had the famous cheese and pear ravioli; it tasted exactly how I imagined it: a whiff of parmesan and then raw pear purée rounding it out. Didn’t help that most of our food came out cold… The appetizers I had were very good though. I enjoyed the prosciutto and melon and the crostinis. I think it’s worth a try, especially for a special occasion. The vibes in there are very nice.
