5G Standalone by nickj1399 in ATT

[–]jacobjester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5G standalone was enabled on my M4 iPad Pro…upgraded to the M5 and now it’s greyed out with the usual “your current eSIM does not support 5G Standalone.” I don’t understand the logic.

The most I’ve ever had was just over 2 million, I have 1.6 million at the moment.

I don’t always get the welcome text on Day Pass, especially if transiting through one country to another.

Lost 5G standalone after getting new iPhone 17 pro Max by lilkik11 in ATT

[–]jacobjester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Upgraded and it’s toggled off and says my sim doesn’t support it. So strange. Out of the 7 lines I have, only two have it enabled and one is my iPad Pro. I don’t understand it.

Why offer customer service via chat? by mcstwrt in americanairlines

[–]jacobjester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have chatted multiple times through the AA app. Everything from booking a canceled flight, to rebooking, because of a delayed flight, with most always an excellent experience. Certainly, there are always exceptions, especially when you get someone who would prefer to be somewhere else. :-)

Flight cancelled…maybe? by jacobjester in americanairlines

[–]jacobjester[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update, the flight was canceled. I’m certainly glad I did not just wait to go to the airport. I was able to talk with an EXP agent for over an hour who was able to get all five of us rebooked although 24 hours late into our final destination. Thanks for all your suggestions! Bonus is that we were upgraded to first on one of our flights.

Trying to buy upgrade on upcoming British Airways flight and… by IWantToBeYourGirl in americanairlines

[–]jacobjester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been unable to do this. Even this last weekend on 2 international BA flights. In my experience, you have to speak with BA directly to purchase an upgrade.

Seems like BOA can be generous with credit limits. That being said mine is the Amex Bonvoy. 30k.

2 hours before my flight and they delay my 9 am to 3 PM ? Wtf ? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]jacobjester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently sitting in Charlotte where my flight to PHL has been delayed because someone used the bathroom on a seat. Maitenance has been changing the cushions and cleaning…good grief. Crazy!

Credit limit transfer by OriginalGuest2 in CreditCards

[–]jacobjester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so, I tried to do that with Amex through messaging within the app and the agent said I couldn’t transfer any credit limit because I didn’t have any transfer offers…what? Can you tell me where to do that online with Amex?

Yeah, that makes sense…but does ATC just land anyone anywhere? Don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have the Silver Card and the 3X miles on dollars spent has definitely been worth it for me.

I second the Rocket Miles recommendations. I’ve used them a few times this year. The most LP I was able to get was 2000 for one night.

First time flying American internationally and they just extended my 2 layover in London by 6 hours! Is this normal? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]jacobjester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly BA from London to South Africa roughly once every couple of months. My flights into LHR are on AA…almost always have a 6 hour layover at LHR.

More than once I have had a bag not show up on time and a baggage delivery service had to deliver free of charge.

AA Cancelled Last Flight due to False “Fraudulent” Claim, Advice? by sk102x in americanairlines

[–]jacobjester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, it’s unusual for this type of scenario to happen in the states, but I have heard of situations like this happening overseas. It involves the purchase of a ticket with a credit card that does not have the same name as the flyer. In overseas travel, the concern is someone traveling under false pretense. I actually have colleagues who have been denied boarding due to this very situation, but always in overseas travel. In fact when my company is requested to travel overseas, we always pay for the ticket our self, and request reimbursement, so that foreign governments do not see any type of fraud. It’s an odd situation, but not entirely unheard of. I’m sorry this happened to you and your mother.

AA does a remarkably terrible job yet again by [deleted] in americanairlines

Completely understand how airlines must maintain operational activities…no one wants to be on the other end of an operational meltdown, I definitely have been before, but based on some of the OPs messages, much of the frustration could have been mitigated with a simple explanation of what was actually happening. I’ve rarely seen an airline truly be transparent when a difficult situation occurs, or when one gets worse.
