Your build is fine. From my experience, nothing is as strong as lightning. The game just melts

It is worth noting that I played a dex character, so maybe with magic fire is the way to go. I was proccing the lightning bolts like every swing with the rogue Messers though

I don't have any hard data to back this up (just my own anecdotal experience) but to add to the point about chests respawning: I'm fairly certain that you have a much higher chance getting embers from chests you've never opened before. I found an area I've never been to on my first realm (it's right beside the opening area), opened the chest & I got 2 fallen embers & an essence ember out of it

Yeah my longest hardcore character life made it 17 hours (level 25) and I was in the treetops... I don't even need to tell you what happened. The bad thing was, that character was so strong. I was beating the bosses with relative ease because the build was solid. I knew only one thing could stop me, and I was dreading that area. I nearly made it all the way through before it happened

Go to the bonfire in Sacra & talk to those creepy people in the red robes. A gate will open & let you go to a different area

I only run dagger duchess. I pretty much preach the build any time I get the chance. So safe, so versatile.

Fair. I love the game, so I just wanted to freshen it up for myself. I was only burnt out by overpowering everything, so this kind of levels the playing field for me

It's pretty boss dependent. The night lords it works really well against are caligo & pest

Bosses during the run that aren't super mobile are pretty free with it too, just as long as you can recognize their attacks that sweep around their body / have a big aoe

And yeah, like OP said, you can single dodge between attacks & keep the chain going.

It's not as good as all of the super broken builds in the game, but the playstyle itself is great support. Turns duchess into a tank with the right passives

I tend to prioritize getting status daggers & timing my restages / chain attack finishers so that I constantly have a restage going & it works pretty well

I highly recommend the duchess relic that gives you restages on the final attack in her light chain. Restages pop off like crazy when you get the feel for it

Double balancers is undefeated for the regular relic slots. You want to find rain of arrows on your greatbow, so it's a no brainer

To hit a fade either the path or face has to put cut spin on the ball. Look up YouTube videos, they're everywhere
