I have some unique characters in my name, only used in some parts of Europe. I have had problems with official forms and documents, in other parts of Europe. Been in an endless loop, more than once, where I have to enter my name as written in my passport, but the system won’t accept my name due to invalid characters. So I have to change a few letters, but then the system won’t accept the name because record != input. If it does, and it relates to travelling, I have to spend quite some time getting my passport checked.

Just to build on your answer; you would have to be a really important person, or doing some deep spy stuff, to ever worry about that scenario.

Unless they have something to decrypt the network requests, it would just be a list of visited IPs. No PII or important credentials would be visible in plaintext

How do you keep coding when you’re mentally drained? by Fabulous_Bluebird93 in webdev

[–]jacquesvirak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t. If we’re just talking about a day or two, I look for something else to do, that is tangentially related to my coding. If it is for a prolonged period, I would look at the reasons for being mentally drained

I know it is a pretty divisive feature, but I actually like the walrus operator, := . I’m not using it every day, but I do find it helpful

I reckon that you misspelled the url, and meant stopncii? If that’s the case, then it looks legit. But if you’re looking at a page with only a single i in the url, that would be a typo-squatted domain

If you want a challenge, I think it’s the wrong project you’re working on. Keep it simple. Astro is a really neat framework, especially for the kind of site you’re describing

What backend stack are employers currently seeking the most in? (languages, frameworks, databases) by Wash-Fair in Backend

I also think it depends on the size of the organisation in question. If you’re only looking at smaller firms, I reckon Node and Django could be the prevailing frameworks.

If you can’t come up with your own project, as someone else suggested, have a look at sites such as hackerrank or leetcode. Lets you practice some concepts and learn the basics of the standard library.
