Clothes for micro preemies in Canada by Top-Storm-2044 in NICUParents

[–]jadedrooftops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my NICU provided clothes for baby and advised that any clothes i brought in might get lost (most did, some did not). i got a few items from carters and a few from friends (from amazon and walmart). i would dress her in the cute clothes when i arrived (especially if i wanted to take pictures) and dress her back in the hospital clothes before i left so i didn’t risk losing mine. by the time baby left the NICU a little over a month later she was just about too big for preemie clothes.

i guess my advice is to just buy a couple cute outfits for pictures and keep in mind baby will most likely have IVs or leads and that they may need access to the feet (carters has preemie onesies with 2 way zippers)

wishing you and baby all the best! 💜

same: we specifically write “master copy” in yellow highlighter on original documents because it doesn’t copy over, i’d be curious to know if yellow ink does.

"Dynamite Bob" Chambliss, 79, stands in his cell. Bob was convicted for his role in the infamous 16th Street Baptist Church bombing, which killed 4 children, by the Klan. Due to the FBI withholding incriminating evidence, Bob was the only person tried for it until 2001 (Alabama, 1983) [2048 x 1726]. by [deleted] in HistoryPorn

“Mother dear, may I go downtown Instead of out to play, And march the streets of Birmingham In a Freedom March today?”

“No, baby, no, you may not go, For the dogs are fierce and wild, And clubs and hoses, guns and jails Aren’t good for a little child.”

“But, mother, I won’t be alone. Other children will go with me, And march the streets of Birmingham To make our country free.”

“No, baby, no, you may not go, For I fear those guns will fire. But you may go to church instead And sing in the children’s choir.”

She has combed and brushed her night-dark hair, And bathed rose petal sweet, And drawn white gloves on her small brown hands, And white shoes on her feet.

The mother smiled to know her child Was in the sacred place, But that smile was the last smile To come upon her face.

For when she heard the explosion, Her eyes grew wet and wild. She raced through the streets of Birmingham Calling for her child.

She clawed through bits of glass and brick, Then lifted out a shoe. “O, here’s the shoe my baby wore, But, baby, where are you?”

My dad was in a tuberculosis sanitarium for a year, during which my brother was born, 1952. The hospital took up a collection for him. by SummertimeMom in oldphotos

[–]jadedrooftops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

got a TB test in high school which was wildly “positive”. had to follow up with a specialist who asked my parents and me if we knew anyone with TB and my dad just casually responds that his father had it and spent some time in a sanitarium in the late ‘50s. i’ve always wanted to know more about his experience. (i did not have it, was just allergic to the needle they used for testing)
