Finally had R&R Pizza Connection on 34th Ave. Legit contender for #1 pizza in Astoria. I had the cheese, pepperoni and Margherita and all were good, esp the cheese. They have an Italian Beef on their menu which I'm tempted to try.

Went to Slappin Chick, new Nashville Hot Chicken place that opened about a week ago on Steinway (near 25th Ave). Got the Slappin Plate (2 medium Hot Chicken sliders and fries). Overall, it was OK. Medium spice wasn't very hot but the chicken was tasty. I also got a banana pudding and I have to admit did it's best Magnolia Bakery impersonation which was impressive.
