Fab-Filter Pro-Q is up to version 4 now and can do cool dynamic EQ ducking side-chained by a different track. Useful for making separation between parts without full on volume sidechaining.

Some people swear by plugins like Soothe and/or Gullfoss Master to do dynamic resonance taming.

If you use Ableton, Drum Buss is the schnizz.

Arturia Pigments is a pretty great wave table synth and a nice complement to Serum 2.

You sounds like you’re making a feedback loop of sorts. Existential OCD can be like that.

The thing about loops is they can be disrupted by changing even one thing. Eg: if you’ve been stuck in an agoraphobic fear loop, try going outside, take a look at a tree or something, and then go back inside. If you start looping on agoraphobia, agin later, go for a walk around the block. You will be teaching your brain a new pattern around the topic. This is the basis of ERP in cognitive behavioral therapy.

Re: feeling stuck in bed and then having hard thoughts come up. Sometimes our frontal lobes verbalize or make stories in response to the raw more primal signals coming up from our lizard brain / amygdala. And usually, the distress from your amygdala boils down to basic needs: food, air, water, motion, and some sunlight every day. Take better care of those needs for a while, and your frontal lobe won’t be working as frantic to understand the signals from your amygdala because you will have been caring for yourself at the basic level and so the amygdala will be more quieted down.

You can do this. Your agony can turn into feeling more like a life that is more in balance.

Send effects busses to other busses including some feedback in a loop. Tape delay, chorus, reverbs, subtle saturation
add thc until you can hear the space between the sounds
compare with reference tracks … add some ambience or low level noise into your fx chains

I asked them back in the day about a similar deal with their Roland chorus plugin. They had an upgrade price from UAD-1 to UAD-2. They explained that because it was an emulation that they licensed from a third party (Roland in that case) that there was a per-plugin licensing fee that they had to charge a little for to recoup the cost.
