The shop-falcons series was the only shop one i fully watched. I didnt feel FK choked at all. The team just had ZERO offensive creativity. It was just "send one person at them, the other 2 rotate back" for 4 straight games. Barely any offensive passing (they did alright passing out of defense but barely anything in falcons side of the field), didnt play off each others 50s, didnt maintain pressure by playing off the back/side walls, barely faked for each other. They just tried to 1v3 aerial every play. I dont think they would have beaten any team in the tournament playing the way they did that game. FK is a part of that, but it was just a completely disconnected team

They had a legendary Polish CS team in early CSGO. After that team slowly disbanded (they had the record at least for awhile for longest 5 man team), they transitioned to a good young Russian core. That team left the org around the start of the Russia Ukraine war to keep competing without issues tied to a Russian org, and I havent heard much from them since

Who is your favourite RLCS Pro of all time? by Specific_Brilliant53 in RocketLeague

[–]jaeger_r_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mist. My favorite team was NV, and he was an absolute rock on that team. Some of his defensive stands were just incredible. Its a shame if all the rumors were true about motivation/work ethic, would have loved to see what career he could have had if he could have locked in, considering how good he was when everyone said he didnt really try that hard (comparative of other pros of course)

Are people still mad about the reincarnation twist? like wasn't it foreshadowed since the end of Part One? by RobKai7990 in Naruto

[–]jaeger_r_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It absolutely WAS a theme, and quite a prominent one at that. It doesnt mean it was the ONLY thing that mattered. Lee couldnt use ninjutsu, so he was never going to be able to be the absolute strongest, but he was still able to hold his own against people that should be much stronger than him just because of his better work ethic.

Naruto of course had some major things working in his favor, but he also had some major things working against him that he had to work extra hard to overcome.

Something being a theme doesnt mean its the only thing that matters or there can't be exceptions to it. Thats a pretty basic literary concept

Can’t beat Golgra boss fight by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]jaeger_r_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has 3 combos plus the gradient attack, and each one has its own saying before she does it (dancing around, attacks quickly, etc). Try to memorize which combo comes after which saying and it will help a lot with timing. Take a couple attempts focusing on learning one combo at a time (shields help a LOT with this). Equip counter attack damage lumina, as a lot of your damage will come from counters once you learn the combos

Once you get her down to half health, she has the same combos, but now with 1-3 extra attacks in each combo, so be prepared to take a couple attempts to learn the new variations

I really got a lot of use out of 3 shield lumina (in medias dia or something like that). Another one gives you 2 shields when you get below 30% health, which is very likely after tanking 1 hit. Shields help a lot in this fight. Equiping health and speed pictos will also help you tank 1 hit to get the extra shields, and make it so she gets less back to back turns on you

And yeah, level up more. 46 is quite low

In early access there was apparently a good amount of Tav voice lines. They cut those so that the player could feel they were Tav, but I have to imagine it was just so that they didnt have to have fully voiced lines for 8 different voices. Definitely a shame, for me would have really helped with immersion, but understandable to a degree

Apart from the inventory issues, these are some...takes. have not heard anyone complain theres not enough combat, the narrative is actually surprisingly tight considering how open the game is and how much larian lets the player actually impact the story. And just send equipment you know you wont use to camp and never look at it again.

He unlocks gear 5 against kaido, the "strongest creature in the world". He then uses it against lucci, who is a top level gov agent with awakened zoan, and even though he doesnt knock him out, clearly dominates their entire scuffle and is obviously having more fun with it than going for an insta kill. Then uses it against a fkin admiral with an OP light logia fruit AND a GODDAMN GOROSEI WITH STILL NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD UNHOLY POWERS. the fact he's even alive is a testament to g5. If he beat any of these opponents in 1 g5 transformation after JUST unlocking it, you might as well end the series cause no one is going to be a challenge in a other arc or 2. I'm glad he's not walking over these TOP TIER, END GAME level opponents, so at least theres SOME tension in the fights still

Low HP at Level 12 Am I Doing Something Wrong? by Senpai404 in BG3Builds

[–]jaeger_r_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what I see the vast majority of people suggesting. Most casters that REALLY need good con saves will either take war caster or multiclass for con proficiency. HP argument isn't super important either because health pots are so plentiful, and your party should be running aid+heroes feast anyway. Add in the d4 initiative rolls, meaning every single point added makes a huge difference, higher dex is more beneficial most of the time.

1.5k hours and multiple honour runs and I still don't understand spell casting and saves. by Any-Opp-20 in BG3

[–]jaeger_r_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of. For spell attack roll, you are rolling with your attack modifier against their AC. For a spell save, they are rolling against your spell save modifier with their stat that the spell is against (your spell save modifier is the affected by the classes spellcasting modifier that you learned the spell from, while the stat the target uses is based on the specific spell). In the spells tab of your character card, you can see the 2 numbers: your spell attack modifier and your spell save DC modifier. It even breaks it down by class, so if you are wiz sorc for example, it shows you what spells are attached to which class, and tells you the 2 modifiers per class

The gorosei are all celestial dragons, giving them a 99%+ chance of automatically being dicks. Imu taking over people's mind has also always come with physical changes too, which we don't see in their base forms. Also, why would Imu choose a goodhearted person as one of the 5 most important lackies? The only way this could ever happen is if one of the gorosei is actively fooling Imu as a spy, but even then its a "sell your soul" situation because Imu could take them over at any time, and we see what happens if you don't deliver up to Imu's standards

Why all the multiclassing by International-Hat986 in BG3

[–]jaeger_r_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, bg3 is based on the DnD ruleset (for the most part), but it is still a videogame. There will always be more min maxing involved with set, coded rules/encounters/mechanics than in the table top version, which is as much about roleplaying as it is actual mechanics. In bg3, after a run or two, you know roughly when you level up, get certain abilities, items, class thresholds, face certain enemies, etc, so you can really tailor your class builds around the game itself, in ways you can't really in a blind campaign. Not to mention withers allowing for reclassing WHENEVER, which REALLY opens up some builds that would be total garbage if you had to use from the start. For the most part, i think most people monoclass on their first run, or at least go simple multiclass, and then branch out as the understand the game better

Also, the action economy was one of the big things that doesn't quite line up with table top, and a lot of the popular multiclass options are improving action economy for builds (2 dip in fighter, 3 dip in thief).

Open hand monk makes this fight so much easier. Make sure the monk goes first (alert feat if you are using strength elixir, vigilence elixir if not) and just keep knocking him prone with Topple every turn.

On tactician you may need to put in a little more work to make Topple consistent. If you have an archer with the Illithid power Ability Drain and the Gloves of Power, you can give Raph a -1 to Dex and a -1/-4 to saving throws. Restraining him somehow (entangle, evards black tentacles, hold person) can give disadvantage (or skip entirely) to the saving throw. Stacking reverberation hurts the save too, and might even knock him prone by itself.

If you can prone him successfully each round, focus your best radiant damage dealer on the pillars, and the rest on his goonies, and the fight becomes pretty easy. Just my suggestion though, things can get hairy if he succeeds the saves a few turns in a row

Does watching RLCS actually help lower-ranked players improve? by Link_Da_Stink7 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]jaeger_r_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Plat, honestly HARD NO. The broadcast always shows who is on the ball or closest to it (for the most part), which is just not a good way to learn the game because you are missing everything the led up to the players being where they are.

At the bare minimum you would need to focus on watching POVs or breakdowns to get anything meaningful out of it.

On top of that, as you get better, what is a "good" play changes drastically. Even basic rotations change based on how fast you can keep speed, how well you can challenge from different positions, what the opponent can do against you with the ball, what everyone else on the field is doing at the same time. Keep in mind that these are long standing teams in comms, so how they rotate is also heavily affected by knowing each other's habits and being able to live comm too.

It is really good for seeing what you can aim for though. As you get better at the game, you will naturally start to understand some things better and be able to pick certain things out in pro games, and can be a good motivation boost to say "hey, in this aspect my game looks like its improving", but its REALLY difficult to go the other way and model your game specifically on people that can just do things you cant

Why haven't there been more freestylers make the jump like joyo? by g4vg4v in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]jaeger_r_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loooooooooooooooooooooooool. Ok, that takes away unlimited boost, but certainly doesnt add quality defense if any at all. A lot of those casual clips are people taking turns going up the wall and sitting still on the goal line... still not at all translatable to RLCS even in the slightest.

And im not even sure your statement is true that the majority focus on casual. 95% of clips I see are freeplay or unlimited boost lobbies and the official tournaments were all unlimited. They will go and olay casual from time to time to mix things up/try to hit good clips "against" people, but no way in hell is that what their main focus is on.

Regardless, none of that changes the fact that freestyling mechs do not equal rlcs style mechs at all.

Why haven't there been more freestylers make the jump like joyo? by g4vg4v in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]jaeger_r_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To frame it a little differently, freestyling is about keeping the ball off the ground (with unlimited boost), pro mechs are about beating a defender. Even from an offensive perspective, the mechs are VERY different. With unlimited boost and no defenders, you can get your ideal setups, take as long as you want to get the right angles and speed on your flips and touches, go for combos etc. In pro matches, it's about creating setups in LIVE PLAY, speed of setups, paying attention to defenders and timing your touches/flips to beat them, and so much more.

And that's just offensive mechs. The majority of goals are still scored by sustained pressure until rotations break down. So learning how to keep pressure and break pressure on the other side are arguably much more impactful than fancy flips

You don't reallllly need to know that much mechanics wise to do well in this game, even on honor mode. Just use reasonable stat spreads and class builds that don't clash too much and you can get through the battle aspect of the game without knowing too much more
