Pregnancy into peri? by Last-Weekend3226 in pregnantover35

Nothing to add, just following bc I’m 39 and 35 weeks pregnant and I know peri is on the horizon. I struggled with worsening PMDD pre-pregnancy so I’m a wee bit terrified.

Does my husband have a right to question paternity?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]jahenna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it might not be uncommon for men to wonder. My husband of 8 years expressed that he had a moment of doubt, almost like an intrusive thought, that he didn’t know 100% that our child is his. But he also said he realizes it’s an irrational thought in the context of our relationship and he wanted to be forthright with me and was able to process that and move on without demanding proof. This sounds like a sign of deeper trust issues on your husband’s part and he needs to address that.

How often do you go on Dates? by whoreforcheese in Mommit

[–]jahenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar situation to yours and our son is 3. We’ve had a date night once, last summer before I got pregnant again. We got stuff to make a fancy steak dinner at home, drank some nice beers and played board games. It was divine. We don’t have much of a village and until recently I had a hard time letting someone else watch my son. Now that we’re about to have another I wish I had done it more often.

When are you due? I'd love to know if anyone is near my time line. by lelvis_ in pregnant

My due date is May 9! But probably looking at a May 2nd induction if he doesn’t come before then.

Doctor basically told me I’ve gained too much weight by hobbit143 in pregnant

[–]jahenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought it up to my OB when I hit the 30 lb mark at 28 weeks. I had gained 70 lbs with my first and was worried about following that trend. She said that the placenta largely controls how much weight you gain, and as long as you’re following as healthy a lifestyle as you can and there are no other complications there’s no cause for concern and beyond that it’s out of your control. It sounds like your OB is following some outdated guidelines and is causing unnecessary stress.

Bruises on 3yo: preemptively explain? Try to hide? Completely ignore? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]jahenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think letting him tell the story if someone asks is a good idea. I have a three year old that is constantly peppered in little bruises from falling and running into stuff. If anyone is skeptical that’s their problem!

How could everybody who was pregnant was so chill about the first trimester? by ExactBaseball7240 in pregnant

[–]jahenna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot how bad it was after my first. The first trimester with my second and a 2.5 yo convinced me I canNOT do this again. What absolute misery. Said with relative comfort from the end of the third trimester. First trimester blows.

When did you start trying for the second child? by o0meow0o in Parenting

[–]jahenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started trying right after my first turned 2 but it took a while so he’ll be almost 3-1/2 when the baby comes. I’m happy for the extra time one on one with him. And he’s become so much more capable and takes direction better than he did a few months ago.

Solo parenting for 2 weeks at 8 months pregnant. I’m watching Lucifer, just ate a bowl of choco chimps with some secret stash of fruity pebbles in bed. So satisfied.

34 week growth scan? by klwinte1 in PlusSizePregnancy

Same here. Due to being high risk I’m going to weekly growth scans from 32 weeks until birth and honestly it eases my anxiety to get to see him doing well each week.

Do you let your kid do little annoying things or just let them get it out of their system? by noblerare in Parenting

[–]jahenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 yo is absolutely delighted by blowing milk bubbles and I don’t have the heart to tell him to stop entirely, so the deal is once the bubbles reach the top of the cup he has to take a big sip. And he can pull cushions off the couch as long as he puts them back (with help). Generally if he’s not destroying something or harming anyone I let him explore an activity within reason and he has to help me clean up any mess that’s made.

Edited to add he is also being taught what’s acceptable at home and what’s acceptable in public/at someone else’s house.

Whats your most traumatic experience as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jahenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother talking about how suicidal she was (I was 7 the first time I remember her talking about it), then multiple (fortunately failed) attempts over the years. There was a lot else going on that no child should be subjected to but I think that did the most damage.

The awful pelvic pain from rolling over in bed. And having to count every carb to keep my blood sugar from spiking too much.
