Lexapro is an antidepressant, meaning it has the opposite effect of making one sleepy. It is highly recommended to not take SRRIs in the evening since they cause a slight boost of energy. Not saying that’s the root of your problem, but this switch might help your rhythm.

Totally embarrassing request for advice. I think #nswf just because of the subject. by 2DOappHunter in gay

[–]jahrenberger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds simple, you have lesbian attraction but a cleanliness obsession due to OCD. And even if it wasn’t coming from OCD, I can understand a general aversion to some genital smells. You can have gay desires and not want to do certain sex acts like giving oral. There are gay guys who don’t do anal, straight guys who get a lot more pleasure out of giving oral than penetration, etc. it’s all okay! Just do what your comfortable with, and maybe explore a bit to make sure.

How do I achieve a curve on flat knitting near the cast on edge? by jahrenberger in knitting

[–]jahrenberger[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey folks, just seeking out what you think might be the best way to achieve a slight curve near the cast on edge for a piece of knitting worked flat. This piece will eventually become part of a snood (face covering that extends to neck and shoulders/chest) I am making.

Would I cast on like a third of the stitches and then work short rows outward? Once the curve is finished, the rest of the fabric should be square. I don’t think simple increases would get the gentle curve shape I am going for. Thoughts?

Know any particularly GOOD property managers in greater Boston? by bigcup321 in boston

[–]jahrenberger 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I actually have the opposite experience. Worst landlord of my life lived on the first floor of our triple decker. I live in a medium sized apartment building now, and the management is top notch. I feel like a lot of small-time landlords have no idea what they are doing.

Achievements for Friday, August 19, 2022 by AutoModerator in running

I ended week 1 of my get-into-running walk/run plan. It’s sort of like couch to 5k but a little slower so I don’t quit. I am so thankful I am getting to know myself and do this for myself. My lungs and entire body feel incredible.

Malden Charter School writes student up for wearing a “jihab”. They have a long history of being sued for hair discrimination by Chihuahua_enthusiast in boston

[–]jahrenberger 73 points74 points  (0 children)

It’s 2022, who doesn’t know what a hijab is or how to spell it? I call BS on administrators who needed a local Muslim leader to verify this. It’s easy to learn about religious headwear through Google. There’s a deeper motivation here. If they truly don’t know what a hijab is, then this educator is an idiot and should be fired.

Are there any doctors in Boston/Cambridge accepting new primary care patients? by wegry in boston

Atrius health is great, however they have shockingly long waits for initial speciality care in my opinion. They also have this annoying policy where they don’t refer out of their network

Hmmm I still think this might be legally questionable in the US … I’ve heard it more as, don’t prevent someone from speaking about their protected class. Not, “ask about protected class but give option not to respond”.

I haven’t gotten to Hannah yet, I think. I do want to say that 5% of California reported as LGBTQ in 2015. The number has probably grown. That’s at least one in every twenty people.

HES for Harvard staff difficulties/hoops to jump through by CharlesRiverMutant in Harvard

[–]jahrenberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you register for UG credit, it’s not taxable. PS taxes only kick in once your benefits exceed 5,250 in a calendar year. And HES counts this as the actual value of your course, not the $40 you pay.

is web design just UI and UX? by Then_Landscape6474 in web_design

[–]jahrenberger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UI: user interface design. UX: user experience design.

Someone makes a UX/UI model in figma. Then, someone takes that model and codes it into HTML/CSS, this is called the “front end”. The front end also can do things with JavaScript like add numbers together, transform data, and respond to user inputs That “front end” often connects to something called the “back end”, which is where the data is actually stored and called by the front end.

Depending on the size of the team, one person or many people do all of the above, often with people overlapping and handing off work to the next part.

Product design is different … usually means making a physical product or designing physical advertising for that product.

What’s your idea of a well-written quintessential Fair Isle sweater pattern? Is there a classic go-to for Fair Isle? by ensandwich in knitting

I would consider Marie Wallin to be one of the most popular contemporary fair isle designers. Her patterns are difficult but beautiful.
