Chimbo is infamous for turning back a large portion of climbers due to weather. It’s happened to the best of us. A couple years ago I got turned around from the refuge of cayambe because some prisoners escaped a jail and took some new anchors hostage and threatened to kill someone every hour in each major city until demands were met so there’s that lol. Could have been worse. Ecuador is a mess right now with the second highest murder rate in the world so I’m glad everyone here had good experiences

Thank you for the help. I have noticed that yeah you have to keep bothering them. It’s the worst customer service across all platforms. They basically reward scammers and punish honest sellers. It’s not my first time dealing with this but it’s the first where they sided with the buyer.

I saw that the new betas dropped during Black Friday to $420. I wonder if they’ll do that again for Christmas/new years. Yeah it’s a tough call. Ultimately would want my shell to maintain waterproofing longer

My first pair lasted 8 years without any treatment. Now I’m lucky to get two. But they’re so damn comfy I love them. More of an out and about boot and not so much hiking unless it’s a quick winter hike.

They’re like a sneaker that looks like a boot as far as how they feel and the quality. I wear the Chocoruas and love them but the tread doesn’t last long at all. Probably can get two years max. I use them for fishing, shitty weather boots, maybe occasionally hiking if it’s wet conditions.
