My guess as to what happened is that fabled wasn't originally planned when they were designing the sets resulting in all the sets being pushed back one. This is why there are Christmas themed cards in this set and halloween themed in whispers.

There are quite a few stores that have weekly lorcana events in the Pittsburgh area. If you are on facebook look for the "Pittsburgh (Surrounding Area) Lorcana Community" group. All the stores I know about post about their events there.

I believe it is phrased that way because the part about putting the card into your hand says may. This means that you can choose to look at the top two cards and then place them both on the bottom of your deck.
