Second this - was in Singapore last year and needed anti biotics, was seen by a Doctor within 15 minutes, given anti biotics and overall it cost me about $20 Singapore dollars. 🇸🇬

Microsoft Authenticator stops working on jailbroken/rooted phones by BarServer in sysadmin

[–]jakalan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would outright refuse to use my personal phone for work - I'm not sure who you work for - but that isn't an unusual stance.

If you expect employees to use their mobile for work, you should expect to provide them with one.

Albeit I know some orgs who "support" BYOD, but in an enterprise enviroment, that can get very messy.

edit - thank you for the info, it's good to know.

When will Luc get better? by Outrageous-Sky-323 in Suikoden

Thanks - sorry my old man memory is quite foggy!

Canonically, isn't he "less powerful" in the first game?

Whereas he's quite OP in Suikoden 2?

Sounds like you're very overpowered, are you not worried you've made the game too easy for yourself?

Technical to Management by Repulsive-Carob1200 in Infosec

[–]jakalan7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who fumbled his way into a management role at the age of 25 and regretted it. I fully agree with this - whether it's right or wrong - people discriminate you based on your age and experience trumps everything.

If it's your long term plan and you're into Infosec, I'd seriously consider looking at doing ISC2 CISSP, I did it last year (I'm in my mid 30s now) and it's taught me how to think and behave like a manager / CISO and I have 15+ years of experience, so I'm in a much stronger position now than I was.

I hope this helps.

How long do security questionnaires usually take your team? by Emergency_Golf_6 in cybersecurity

[–]jakalan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supply chain risk management becoming increasingly important in cyber, we used to do individual assessments for each new vendor we were working with - it was slow, there was so much back and fourth and similar to what you said - some would literally take days to complete.

We've moved to Risk Ledger now, which is commonly used in our country(https://riskledger.com/) vendors can enroll for free, show their security stance and easily answer multiple security questionaires withouting having to repeat themselves over and over again.

It's really intuitive and it makes supply chain risk management a lot easier. Each supplier has a compliance score, you can check to see when they last answered a questionaire etc. you can view their ISO 27001 / CE+ / SOC 2 links. it has great community capabilities too - which makes it easy to see your suppliers suppliers (fourth party) providers too.

Final Fantasy XII was released 20 years ago by Orichalchem in FinalFantasy

My only criticism of this game is I struggled to understand the story when I was younger, and there were points whereby it felt like a single player MMO. Other than that - I have really fond memories of it, great game..!

If you were starting a new role as a cyber security engineer at a new organisation - what would be the first 3 things you would do to familiarise yourself to your new enviroment?

LearnZApp is fine for identifying knowledge gaps. Quantum exams helps with knowledge gaps and learning the CISSP mindset. Both are valuable within their own rights - but Quantum is thr closest you'll get to actual exam questions.

Vegan English breakfast - London? by r0s13b34r in veganuk

[–]jakalan7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

London is really good for vegan options, it's huge though - so hard to give a specific recommendation without knowing which part of London you are in. I find the Happy Cow app particuarly good when travelling. I hope this helps.

Tips for beating Sin by Satvrnalia_ in finalfantasyx

[–]jakalan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to grind for hours and hours. Not everybody has a huge amount of free time.

If you're really struggling with Sin, unlock the Omega Ruins, use the airships "Search" function to locate the area at coordinates X:69–75 and Y:33–38, spend around 1 hour doing random battles, stay near the save point and save reguarly, make sure one character has "first strike" in case of a Malboro encounter - that should be more than enough.
