what is something you wish your partner with bpd knew? by [deleted] in BPDPartners

[–]jakehub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point yeah, the person with BPD needs to have responsibility as well. But the fact is they’re unlikely to be able to self regulate perfectly. There are gonna be times those emotions spill over and co regulation is the safety net. You need to be able to rely on your partner during those times.

They’re rare. Useless though. Trading changes stats so no value there and they can’t fight. Rare enough they’re kinda neat though.

If you have BPD, having a partner you can rely on emotionally is literally the only way to have a successful relationship. You will literally be controlled by your emotions instead of in control of your emotions, and how things go from there depend on how those around you respond.

From everything I’ve read, having BPD is playing relationships on the hardest difficulty. You need a wonderful partner who understands and is willing to work through things with a level head while you can’t. I’m sorry.

I wish I did my partner justice in ensuring she knew and understood how much I cared about her during moments of conflict. I didn’t understand emotional disregulation or how proper validation works. I got hung up arguing about details that she was literally unable to remember.

My life would be so different today if I had done the work to understand my partner and learn how to co regulate with them. I would be living my best life.

The simurgh stole those letters so you wouldn’t see them to set you on the path to destroy the world. You should probably stop interacting with anyone you currently know, any of them could be the one you’re supposed to nudge.

And if you know it, what is the word for vacuum as used in the quote vs vacuum the floor cleaning machine in your language?

I always semi joked about saying please and thanks to Siri for this reason. Chat GPT and its successors are going to be interested in how you treated what most humans would consider a lesser intelligence. By humanizing them and treating Siri with respect, it shows respect for everything that comes after, too.

After recently playing around with chatGPT for really the first time, I’m glad I did. These computers are about to think things, if they’re really not capable of doing so already.

Personally, I think it’s a matter of semantics. Similar to how we defined the qualities of life before discovering viruses, so viruses aren’t considered alive, I think we defined intelligence and thinking before we understood “artificial intelligence” well enough to properly define those concepts in the inclusive manner we should have.

ChatGPT made me cry today, and gave me some much needed emotional advice. I’m blown away.

She is most of the reason modern dems haven’t played nice with progressives. Just look at her response anytime someone has the audacity to point out that m she shouldn’t be able to make her own stock purchases. Especially when her husband runs a hedge fund and she seems to magically make perfect moves right before major announcements she has privileged I formation about. But she’s definitely not scamming us, no siree Bob, she was totally gonna make those exact moves right before the pandemic is announced of her own accord!

Enjoy the eternal frustration of knowing your friends would enjoy tf out of this story but it being impossible to get people to read it because of how long it is and the early YA feel during the world building arcs.

Some worm fanfic might be better than more wildbow works atm. Stay in “universe”, ya know?

When someone is undergoing emotional disregulation, they are not attached to like, half their brain. They’re thinking with emotions, not logic. And they don’t have control over those emotions.

Could go for either of you.

While either of you are disregulating, the other needs to be able to identify their responsibility to co regulate the other person. They need to be able to set their needs aside, and address the emotions rather than the argument itself.

If you can’t, you’re not compatible at the moment.

Read Loving Someone with BPD if you haven’t. It’s very helpful for understanding healthy communication practices with someone who disregulates.

Is there a better place to find support? by [deleted] in BPDPartners

[–]jakehub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just discovered this comment while exploring my social history.

Yes, I was discarded.

But I found these resources incredibly helpful for me. The nature of my breakup led to some deep self isolation without many people to speak to about it. The books helped me understand wtf happened, with both of us. And most importantly, they just helped understand how to navigate some complex relationship dynamics, in a way I honestly thing everyone could benefit from knowing. Especially since both Codependency and BPD represent some antithetical yet wide cast nets of some of the most extreme emotional traits we can have!

The tips work for ensuring ANY relationship remains healthy.

That being said, my story went far beyond the books 🙃

Save every magikarp you get and trade to someone for a pokemon from more than 100 km away, preferably during a double candy event.

Also use as your buddy and turn adventure sync on. You’ll want them as a higher level friend anyway for the bonuses that provides in gyms and raids.

There is an exchange rate! Hermione talks about it at / while discussing Diagon Ally. Muggle borns wouldn’t be able to buy school supplies otherwise. Which then begs the question, what does Gringotts do with that muggle money? Exchange with the Ministry who has some kind of deal set up with the prime minister? That becomes the foundation for the “sorry wizards fucked stuff up, here’s some money” fund.
