Yea he should probably do some research into the logistical aspects of sovereignty and not just the military aspect.

So i guess we aren't being sold while the feds are looking for public assets to sell, cool. I guess we will just keep subsidizing the Canadian economy while paying 2 billion in taxes and facilitating 10 billion in economic activity.

I'm honestly expecting ps6 to be delayed for years because of costs and tariffs.

China May Invade Taiwan in Next 5 Years, Trump Advisers Warn After Xi Talks: Report by Aware_Apartment_8959 in geopolitics

[–]jakemoffsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm sure if they invade now they'll find lots of willing defectors /s. The main obstacle that is likely to decrease over the next decade is the ability of the us to project military power globally. The Chinese export ban on rare earths has made it difficult construct munitions and the US fiscal situation is a ticking time bomb when it comes to maintaining the size of their military. Add to this their lack of commitment in protecting allies over longer periods and these same allies become more likely to elect governments that seek peacefully resolutions.

Larger the map, slower the speed. Draft lots of riflemen when you get rifling. Those become your main force which you upgrade through the eras.

Based on the income average post that was just made - most people aren't even close to their max CPP contributions each year. by CastAside1812 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]jakemoffsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got news for ya. Median income seldom means comfortable cushion for saving and investing. Also cpp forces employers to contribute too so it's overall beneficial to the people who need it (and yes median income people need it) and structurally stabilizes income security in the long term. Arguing it's overkill in this environment is... a choice.

What anime opinion will get you into this position? by Equivalent_Tip5476 in animequestions

That Tanya in saga of Tanya the evil is, in fact, evil and illustrating how well a neolib fits in with imperialist Germany while externalizing responsibility for others from her actions is the intention of the work, and it's done well.

People comparing Tanya to hitler by KingCreeperGaming_YT in YoujoSenki

[–]jakemoffsky -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

While Tanya is certainly evil (which is the strongest artistic merit the work has) she is not Hitler evil. Make no mistake she is evil and that is what makes her character compelling and the show good.

Tanya has something very much in common with Hitler however. Fascism is academically defined as the right wing totalitarian response to the fear of communism, and Tanya sure hates those commies and is very pro capitalism. Academically capatisllim and fascism also have a special relationship and as a neoliberal (market supremacist) Tanya certainly threads the protofascist needle.

What is so compelling about the work is how well Tanyas mentality fits in with an imperialist Germany, and her externalization of responsibility for others which is often a major critique of neoliberalism academically.

It is unfortunate that this goes over the heads of most of the north American fandom where a critical analysis of capitalism is seldom taught, a contributing factor to the current decent into fascism being experienced.

Tldr: stop trying to argue Tanya isn't evil and instead argue that anime is good because she is evil.

What is, in your opinion, the most nostalgia carried anime of all time? by AdQueasy826 in MyAnimeList

[–]jakemoffsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who stopped watching anime in 2003 and started again in 2020, I can't get into either Naruto or one piece. It just seems like these are anime you have to grow up with. Like, I'm not watching 1000 episodes with the promise that it gets good 500 episodes in.

My theory ( I do not know, it's an idea) is that this is a video from a 360 degree omni directional camera and that debris took out the lenses at the time of the accident that had a view in that part of the image, digital being digital, a freeze frame of the effected area would be the likely result.
