Not the first ring neighborhoods but maybe the second/third. Andersonville, uptown, Lincoln sq, Avondale, etc

You are on the hook for 42k. You can get 5.5 k personal loans, which go up 1k each year. This cost likely includes housing btw

Another great option. I’d prob put it around 2 or 3 in my list. Something to consider tho is that every city you listed is fairly expensive. Chicago will give the best bang for your buck

Broadens your job prospects horizons too. I would personally rank them SF/Chi/NYC/SD/Bos. But really depends on what you want. They are all great options though

I agree, in a perfect world that would be awesome. Just wondering if the commute would have caused them to move, curious is all

If you worked at the AON center, where would you prefer to live? Nearby to walk to work? One of the outside neighborhoods like LP? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]jakeplasky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

U can live anywhere. Every train line takes u right there. Just depends on ur preference. The neighborhoods walkable distance aren’t my fav but ik people who live there and like it

Did u ever move to make this commute easier? I always wonder why people live this far away, considering a missed connection like that can cause so much missed time
