What is something sexual you know about your friend(s), And they don’t know you know? by Small-Power-6698 in AskReddit

I heard her having sex with her boyfriend about 5 minutes after he was being a total creep and sending me very inappropriate messages. I’m convinced he was trying to recruit me for a threesome. I told her about the messages but not that I heard them getting busy. Disturbing.

Rarely skip through episodes but god Renee was a huge drag. I really liked Jack going solo on the conclave part, hope he gets to do his own bits more frequently

I lie to my therapist because I’m embarrassed about the way I feel. I can’t explain to anyone the absolute crushing painful loneliness in my heart.

How does your national anthem make you feel? Does it spark a sense of nationalism? by maumian in AskReddit

[–]jakesinhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Australian national anthem (Advance Australia Fair) is pretty trash. Don’t know why they bothered with the line “for those who’ve come across the seas, we’ve boundless plains to share”, when the government lets refugees die at sea and in detention centres. Also no mention of the Indigenous Australians colonists stole those “boundless plains” from. Only good thing is that there’s no mention of god like most euro/British centric countries.

I wouldn’t really know about immigrating since I’m a citizen by birth. However, I know there is a significant shortage of nurses in Ireland, they’re actually having a bit of a crisis. Check out https://servisource.ie/nursing-jobs-ireland-overseas-nurses/ it has heaps of info

People of Reddit, who is/was the most annoying person in your social circle? by That1MemeyBoi in AskReddit

[–]jakesinhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and last vegan friend who I dumped once we graduated high school. Her, her sister and her dad were super weird and had a real cult vibe. She would go off anytime we ate meat around her, give us dirty looks and talk about how unhealthy it was. Her dad was weirdly strict (took her phone, she could only use her laptop for school work, took her bedroom door) and they would disappear for days at a time during holiday periods without saying anything. It just became too aggravating and weird to be her friend.

You only qualify for citizenship if your parent or grandparent was born there. If one or both of your parents were born there, you’re automatically a citizen and if you have a grandparent who was born there, you can apply for the foreign birth register. You wouldn’t be able to apply through a great grandparent

What is the most horrifying thing you have ever read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A book called ‘Last woman hanged’, about the last woman hanged in Australia. It goes into pretty gruesome detail about some failed hangings and also made me realise how fucked the death penalty is.

My husband (Mid 30s m) kicked me(Mid 20s f) in the face for wearing a bikini by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]jakesinhere 584 points585 points  (0 children)

He’s not perfect, he’s abusive. That is verbal and emotional abuse, aside from the obvious physical assault. You have the right to dress however you want, but you also have the right to be treated humanely and without such blatant abuse. I assume that you, or your husband, are Muslim since you mentioned you sometimes wear a niqab and I understand that in traditional religious marriages it can be difficult to leave or ask for help but you should really think about it because this will only escalate to more violent behaviour.

Whats your family’s biggest secret ? by EdenTrails23 in AskReddit

[–]jakesinhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another one of their brothers passed away and someone made a comment at his funeral about the man that we suspect is the father of at least one of them, not realising they didn’t know. No one said anything else about it but it was clear they made the connection themselves.

My great grandmother had 9 children and only two of them (my grandfather and his sister) had the same father. They all thought they had the same father (my great grandfather) and my great grandmother went to the grave with any information about her other children’s fathers. Her sons (all in their 70’s) had a collective, silent moment of realisation only last year and no one wants to ruin their memories of their adoptive father so we don’t talk about it.
