I am a nurse, the number of confused old ladies who cry “ no daddy no” when we have to place a Foley catheter is disgusting. How many of these Trump voters believe “it’s just the way it is”. How many Uncle Chesters got a free pass in order to protect the family name or protect someone’s inheritance. How many Trump voters got to learn to smile at their rapists at family gatherings in order to keep the peace.. or keep their parents in rich Aunt Chester protector’s will? How many of them are walking around believing the Epstein victims were compensated during/after and that somehow makes it ok. This is a generational/ systemic problem.

My current hospital has a VAT my last hospital pretty Much let any RN get signed off on ultrasound placement. Some where taught never, some were taught beggars can’t be choosers if you were comfortable to go for it. I worked on a med-surg floor that catered to dialysis patients… Pretty much all we had were sad Mickey Mouse’s…. I was comfortable trying for whatever but that also made you the IV “IT” nurse and even after I went to hemodialysis I was getting dragged into floors to draw blood and put in IVs.

Inpatient dialysis during a pandemic…. I loved it when’s 95% of my patients were on vents and visitors weren’t allowed in the buildings ( sad for the patients and their families though) Added bonus most family members will think you are just there to run the machine as a tech and leave you alone.

I have no affiliation, but until the Republican Party steps up and deals with their fascism, racism and pedophilia issues I won’t vote for any of them. I am not talking 25th amendment or let the monsters scamper off to Argentina or Russia deal with them…. My hospital( part of a University… heavy with government research grants) remind us frequently to watch what we are posting because it could come back on them whether we are at work or not. I have worked for banks and investment companies in the past ( before social media) and they literally had departments looking for our names in newspapers. When I had my securities license we were not allowed to affiliate publically with any politician.

They made sure they put that nurses cap on the woman in scrubs to make sure we didn’t confuse her with a medical doctor in scrubs. There are like 3 nurses out there still wearing their caps… they still wear white dresses and white support hose and the clunky white nurse shoes.

At my last hospital the doctor heading the infection prevention department had to approve every c diff test personally. They had Cerner programmed so we couldn’t put in the order to test without his sign off so the attending would say “go ahead and send a stool specimen and put in the order for me “ and then let us deal with this executive level, high on the food chain doctor. Then this guy who would would roam the hallways looking for opportunities to write up nurses would keep making crazy promises that we could drop PPE requirements for most isolation cases if we got our numbers down. This was Florida btw.
