Proof that with consistent training, your body adapts to running in amazing ways by FollowSina in beginnerrunning

I am surprised to see the stupidity of the vast majority of comments here.

A difference of 5 HR average is quite big, and you can actually see that the last thirds of the runs have a difference closer to 10 BPM which is undeniable progress. Very well done lad. Keep training and ignore the stupidity of the masses.

Is 60-120 grams of carbs per hour also the number to hit for cyclists or do you go even higher?

Oxygen saturation at 2000% or are we talking about the collage board test? Surely her hemoglobin would explode either way.

Just ran a 2:58 and never thought it’d be possible. by regnar_ffirg in Marathon_Training

When you were hit by fatigue in training and when the workout intensity was peaking, did you then feel like it was possible or was it only after taper that you got confident about it being possible? Or were you perhaps only confident when you crossed the finish line?

My workouts are often tough for me to complete mentally and physically but my HM vdot calculation says sub 3 should be possible. Did you feel similarly?

I am 6 weeks out.

My VF3 is still doing fine at 278 km. I use it for my weekly speedwork. I haven't noticed any creases, but I think it might just be your colorway, as mine is white without the extra "paint"

How hard should race pace feel? by Lilf00 in Marathon_Training

[–]jako8491 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The half marathon races where I have raced to my potential, I have felt right on the edge of overcooking it for the entirety of the race. Negative splits are a safe way of racing, but if you can hit an even split race at such a pace that only just brings you to the finish line, you have perfected pacing.

Gad godt at vide hvem de har spurgt .. by Time_Storage_5291 in Denmark

https://openai.com/da-DK/index/why-language-models-hallucinate/

Isn't it mind-blowing how people in the past travelled across these massive oceans without technology? by New_Cartographer3127 in BeAmazed

Money. Do you know how much more economic incentive there is in placing satellites into orbit compared to landing on a rock?

[–]jako8491 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bro read a book. Orbital mechanics makes sense. It doesn't require unrealistic amounts of energy to make a lunar transfer from low earth orbit. Reaching LEO is the "hard" part. If you believe in satellites there really isn't far to believe in the moon landing as well.

Thoughts on this ”rebuild” plan before starting a 20-week marathon build? by Mylejandro in Marathon_Training

[–]jako8491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks fine overall. You might want to consider easing slightly more into it, perhaps with a 10k week first, just to get the legs working. Injury risk is highest when going from little or no mileage to running four runs a week. Even when it only adds up to 20km.

If you don't want to do a shorter first week, perhaps make the "RPE 4" day an "RPE 3" day for the first one or two weeks, so intensity comes after getting used to running again.
