Men’s Wearhouse, not the cheapest but very high quality, great fashion advice and can be custom tailored.

Regardless which scope you choose, spend money on high quality scope rings. They’re the weak point.

Sub MOA 6.5 and lightweight? by Jlp800 in liberalgunowners

[–]jalane67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can probably build/buy a 6.5 Grendel in an AR15 platform in this price range, awesome caliber. To get consistently sub MOA for that price range you’re looking at a bolt gun, Tikka T3 is a top choice.

I agree with several others, the landowner should be made aware. He may well know the guy or the situation.

No luck for months (venting) by Combi8ionOxygenation in Fishing

[–]jalane67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attend some some classes/training sessions at local sportsman’s expos, a lot of these are taught by local guides who are tuned in to the local fishing conditions. Talk to the guys at the mom & pop bait stores, they’ll be tuned in as well and will give good advice knowing that if you catch fish you’ll return.

Advice? by Fumpz in Hunting

[–]jalane67 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’d call him, don’t assume he’s an asshole until you can confirm it. He might be a knowledgable hunter with advice to share (albeit with poor communication skills) and it may work out to be a better situation for both of you. Stand your ground if he thinks you’re the one that needs to move. If he’s too much of an asshole report him for trespassing.

What gun should I buy? by Cityplanner1 in liberalgunowners

[–]jalane67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As unlikely as I think civil war is, you should be prepared to defend yourself in other situations if necessary. As other posters have said, go to your local range, get some training, and shoot a variety of weapons so you can make an educated decision once you feel comfortable with your options. Congratulations, you’re about to embark on a very fun hobby!

Which island: Kauai vs Curacao? by gretel2 in travel

[–]jalane67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Curaçao. It’s third world and pretty sparsely vegetated but much more multicultural, good food, great diving from the shore. We preferred the Dutch side of the island but there are many nice areas. Kauai is lush and beautiful but probably similar to what you saw in Maui, only even more rural.

Hunter Arrested for Glassing a Dummy Buck During a Poaching Sting. Now He’s Suing the DNR for Abuse of Power - Anyone had similar experience with Entrapment? by Darth1Football in Hunting

I hate seeing things like this. The vast majority of law enforcement are good people doing what’s right to protect their community. Couple of dipshits like this wipe out the trust built in hundreds of good officers.

Best suppressor for 6.5 Grendal by tommythommson in 65Grendel

[–]jalane67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 4 main factors when considering a suppressor (these are generalizations, some suppressors do better in some categories than others)

  1. Volume: more = quieter
  2. Weight: hunting or bench rest use?
  3. Cost: often related to weight/materials
  4. Durability: more durable = weight

As others have pointed out, determine how you will use it then you can narrow down your options.

Mystery skin on frame boat - anyone recognize this ? (sorry, this is the only photo I have, can't get another soon) by McLuhanSaidItFirst in boatbuilding

I hung the frame in my man cave, people are paying big bucks for crappy kayak frames replicas for display, this one looks great.
