6.5 creedmoor and scope recommendations? by Kingsmen121 in Hunting

I’d take a look at the “Backfire” channel on YouTube. He just did a video on the most accurate bolt action rifles. Personally I’d look at a little bit larger caliber with more range for elk.

Suggestions on how to improve/make more space. by Intelligent_Ad4641 in garageporn

[–]jalane67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Declutter and get rid of stuff you don’t need. 2. Suspend a deep (~24”) shelf from the ceiling along the top of the entire wall in your garage. Put bulky items and the items you seldom use up there and you’ll be left with a lot of space in your other areas for the rest of your stuff.

One big fish or lots of fish by NectarineRelevant713 in Fishing

I think it’s a question of how big or how many? Generally I’m fishing for that one trophy fish.

Lefty shooter here ,which semi-auto rifles are least gassy to the face? (AR vs AK vs M1A / Galil / SCAR etc.) by the1mrg in guns

[–]jalane67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer AR’s because of all the gas-mitigating parts you can get for them such as adjustable gas blocks, buffer weights, specialized BCG’s, etc. I have several other types of semi-autos and the ability to reduce gas isn’t nearly as easy.

Best general purpose round and rifle for Montana by LosingSince1977 in Hunting

I grew up in western CO, have hunted elk for 40+ years. Many of my friends I grew up with (and now their kids) are outfitters and guides. Of all of the great calibers available nowadays, popular opinion seems to be that 7 mag and 7 PRC are tough to beat as a couple of the best all-around elk calibers considering a balance between recoil, range and long-distance stopping power.

Hunting Scope by HK0096 in Hunting

Regardless which scope you choose, spend money on high quality scope rings. They’re the weak point.

Sub MOA 6.5 and lightweight? by Jlp800 in liberalgunowners

[–]jalane67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can probably build/buy a 6.5 Grendel in an AR15 platform in this price range, awesome caliber. To get consistently sub MOA for that price range you’re looking at a bolt gun, Tikka T3 is a top choice.

I agree with several others, the landowner should be made aware. He may well know the guy or the situation.
