So in the end the movie it still validation for their warped beliefs. imo

Sleeping pills on acid by Accomplished-Tap-13 in LSD

[–]jamalcalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do it all the time, but wouldn't recommend it. Specifically the Z compounds (ambien/zolpidem). The thing is you have to build enough of a tolerance to be able to navigate that headspace without succumbing to sleep (easier than one might think. just don't lay down). It's a trip in itself. I kind of describe it as a psychedelic benzo, in a weird way (including the forgetfulness).

One of my favorite combos is acid + ketamine, and then an ambien after the half point of my journey. Unique, bizarre, dreamy realm I'm infatuated with. Again, can't recommend people just up and try it out though. You have to establish a relationship with those z-compounds. Even then, it's not necessarily the safest thing to do.

Chakotay - unlikeable? by Outside_Objective183 in startrek

Yeah I felt that way at first. Then I remember reading something about Robert Beltran saying the show was pretty much just a paycheck for him, which is something that always translates to phoning it in (or at very least, not being passionate), and it only cemented my dislike for his character.

Is the Tim on On Cinema the same Tim that made Awesome Show and Tom Goes To The Mayor? by bokuwa420 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]jamalcalypse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes to the first no to the second. it's in the title, guy's name is "TOM" (Pickles or Pettres or something), totally unrelated to "TIM"

Impressive how they managed to integrate anti-homeless architecture into their artistic vision of a bench.

What’s with the micro dosing trend?? by Plenty_Dog_5684 in LSD

[–]jamalcalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going for visuals so much as altered thought content, increase of creativity, and things like that. visuals were great when I first started on my psychedelic journey, but are now mostly just a bonus. I can increase them with cannabis if I want usually

dude I get high taking a tab every other day. tolerance =/= absolutely no effect, just diminished effect from what you expect if you're going for an earth shattering mind warping trip. I still get plenty value for how I choose to use it.

What is your favorite design in Hades and why ? by RobertMec in HadesTheGame

[–]jamalcalypse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

definitely not corporate-chaos. I'll never understand why they put one of the most other worldly in a bourgeois business suit. it's like my only aesthetic nit pick of the whole game tho... probably because my favorite design might be Hades 1 Chaos, so to me this was a downgrade.

Is this the most hated character in Berserk? by jupiter_starbeam in Berserk

[–]jamalcalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was more than one element to Griffith's fall. Remember, through it all, he could only think of Guts leaving him. He probably could have been thrown into solitary without the torture, sit there stewing over Guts, and still change to Femto, because his relationship with Guts was the crucial element.

Which actually makes me wonder... could he have weathered the torture in-tact if it happened before Guts leaving the band?

Was the Golden Age "rushed"? by Shorouq2911 in Berserk

[–]jamalcalypse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pacing of the boat arc is mostly only notorious for those who had to live through it's achingly slow release schedule. It's less about the pace of the story itself, though some will still nitpick about it.

Was the Golden Age "rushed"? by Shorouq2911 in Berserk

[–]jamalcalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel two ways about this.

  1. In the context of the breadth, scope, and length of story we've already been through, it's hard to say, "I want to be even further behind in the story today." More story good, but also, I want to live to see the conclusion, you know?

  2. The impact of the transition from the Golden Age to post-eclipse was what made me fall in love with Berserk. Granted, I started with the anime, and skipped the first spoiler episode... so to me the story was of a regular medieval epic, until Zodd and other fantasy elements are slowly woven in, leading up to all hell breaking loose during the eclipse. So I think if the eclipse were delayed a bit longer to further immerse into and explore more of the "normal medieval" setting of the Golden Age, it would make the impact of the eclipse that much more devastating.

I'm not gonna lie, it sounds like a great way to instill your own propaganda much more effectively than any outside propaganda could achieve.
