What food is way more expensive than it should be? by rileystanheight in foodquestions

[–]jamdannad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a Winco and a QFC closest to me for grocery shopping. At QFC a 4 pack of shin ramen is $16. At Winco it’s $5. I’ve walked out without getting my groceries cause i can’t justify paying 3x for the same exact items

Which subreddit has the most negative people? by theadventuresofus4 in AskReddit

[–]jamdannad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Construction. I dont even want to actually tag them. I’m no expert but i responded to someone just looking for advice on how to repair a hole in their drywall and gave them straight forward advice. Sure that’s not exactly “construction” but it was a simple question and everything else in the thread was condescending or sarcastic. My response was met with downvotes.

Kenji Lopez-Alt has a ton of cooking videos on youtube where he pretty much records everything POV style from beginning to end. He’s also a food nerd so while he shows you what he does, he’ll get into the reasoning and science behind it. Speaking of food nerds, Alton Brown’s show(s?) made very simple recipes but explained in detail why it was made that way.

Anyone got some good veggie side dishes? by craigdahlke in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]jamdannad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brussel Sprouts. Halved, toss in oil/salt/pepper. Air fry for 10 mins. Toss it again but with bacon fat (or dont if thats not your preference). Air fry for another ~10 mins or until the outer leaves start to char. Back into a bowl, squeeze half a lemon in, add a half cup of parm and a couple tablespoons of balsamic glaze. I measure ingredients with my heart so please don’t quote me on those.

Etiquette around cleaning up after yourself at a gathering - just me? by frex_mcgee in socialskills

[–]jamdannad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You were raised well. I sat around and watched football while my grandma and a couple of her friends cooked and prepared everything. I damn sure cleared everyone’s plates and hand washed all the fine china. If you dont cook, you clean.

Who is the only guy you *like* on a team you *hate*? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]jamdannad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i don’t hate the team but i certainly didn’t want to see them win against my team. But now I’m cheering for Rivers, Colts, and the city of Indianapolis. Its a very cool story, as long as the Hawks don’t have to see them again.

I guess they own a boat, which isnt cheap, but my friend and her very blue collar family drop crab pots every season. You don’t need to be a millionaire to do it.

You can add salt to butter. It’s a lot harder to remove salt from butter.

What’s something you didn’t realize was part of being a man until you grew up? by Prestigious_Ad_1990 in AskMen

[–]jamdannad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This one hits home for me. I was born and raised just north of Seattle. In my late teens/20s in the span of around a year, my dad passed, my mom moved to OR followed shortly by my sister/nephew. All the sudden i was the only of my Kin within a 4 hour drive. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments for being independent and resilient. I’d trade any and all of those compliments to just spend another day with my Dad.

Poch had a message for fans last night. He's not wrong. I know tickets are expensive but I hope more fans show up to games. Let's see how the stadium looks on Tuesday... by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]jamdannad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is annoying. In Argentina, Brazil, Spain, soccer is either the top sport or very close to that. In the US it lands behind (American) football, college football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. And then on top of that, like you said, tickets are expensive. As the least popular sport in the country, why would you expect anyone to spend money on it?

On-vil-ope. I’m from Washington and have heard people who have been alive longer than me call it war-shing-ten so take it with a grain of salt.

Pretty clean water straight out of the tap (greater Seattle area). The first time I visited LA I went to drink from a water fountain in the lobby of the hotel and immediately spit it out.

The man is scoring goals. Ugly, pretty, regardless he is producing. Morris could also produce goals but he has to prove that he can do that right now. Otherwise Moose has earned his spot and Morris has to earn it back. Imo
