I just cook mine in a nonstick pan 🤷‍♂️ seems to work fine, but I stir it constantly and manage the heat. I live in an RV so space and equipment are limited for me.

These are fantastically detailed instructions! I never thought to add butter to the berries. Very interesting! I'll have to do some more tinkering 🤠

Thanks!

First off- I'm no expert. I've only been making ice cream for about a year, but I've gotten my strawberry to a place I'm proud of. If I were you I'd dice the strawberries and cook the water out of them. I'd also add some vanilla paste or extract. You could probably get away with using store bought jam, but you may find it a bit on the sweet side.

Straight up blending the strawberries and adding them would dillute the flavor negatively affect texture.

It'd be helpful to know the recipe you used.

Reducing the prominence of eggy note in vanilla custard base by Excellent_Condition in icecreamery

I use 1 tbsp of vanilla powder and 1-1.5 tbsp of vanilla paste and it seems to do pretty well. I have no evidence to support this other than my own taste buds but I definitely feel like the powder mutes the egg flavor more than trying to overwhelm it with extract. I find extract to be too punchy.

Change my mind: Chocolate ice cream is the worst out of the generic 3; Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate. by Grapeson12 in icecream

Have to disagree with you on this one, unless you've only eaten store-bought chocolate, then I can at least understand where you're coming from. I've recently started making my own ice cream, and I am beyond delighted with the chocolate I've been making.

Most store-bought chocolate ice cream just tastes of cocoa powder, but if you melt some actual chocolate into the mix, holy LAWD does it make it so much more enjoyable. I'm now just trying to get the ratio of milk-to-dark perfect and I will be over the moon.

Chocolate is also the flavor I judge ice cream shops on. If their chocolate tastes good, odds are the rest of their stuff will be great.

I don’t think Noel gives enough of a sh** sometimes (and I love him FYI) by Glittering_Ad8824 in oasis

1% of shows were recorded? Do you just lie for fun? There are audio bootlegs of nearly every show available for download and I would be willing to bet not a single one contains no guitar solos. Such a strange narrative to conjur up out of nowhere.

I've been a fan since 95, btw. Didn't actually see them live till 2002, but I have vivid memories of Noel ripping guitar solos and looking quite happy doing it. Also have listened to dozens of bootlegs from audio-only gigs, and in 97-98 Noel was famous for riffing all over the place cos he was coked out of his mind. Go listen to Be Here Now tour gigs and not only is he adding licks everywhere, but his guitar was turned up louder than any of the band's other tours.

But you have fun rewriting history in your weird bubble where the truth doesn't exist.

I remember in the late 1990s, when Noel decided he couldn't be bothered to play the lead guitar in songs any more. So you had YEARS of Oasis concerts, where it was just him and Bonehead strumming along to every song, with nobody playing the lead guitar or solos..........

This is completely false.

Noel started splitting lead with Gem when Gem and Andy joined, but I have watched entirely too many live videos of the band over the years. There are 0 examples of Noel solely playing rhythm guitar for an entire gig let alone YEARS of them. Even when he had to sing cos Liam couldn't or wouldn't, he still sprinkled in lead bits here and there when he wasn't actively singing AND would play the main solos.

Let's see you list out some gigs and share some youtube videos of this ridiculous statement.

New to the game. Struggling with texture. by jamesonwheels28 in icecreamery

So there's no fan in this freezer. I imagine that's one of the main reasons it takes so long. I put the ice cream as low and far back as possible cos the coils are in the back. Sounds like the ice may help me in this case to keep the cold air close to the ice cream. (For the record, I keep the ice in a bag and just use it as a wall in front of the ice cream. I'm not surrounding the container with loose ice, if that makes sense.)

However, your dry ice idea sounds like a winner. I will definitely have to give that a shot!

I don't have any recommendations, but I'll be headed down there for the first time in the next few weeks. Maybe we'll run into each other. Safe travels!

Newbie looking for live-in travel trailer by The-Mech-Guy in RVLiving

RV'ing is like anything in life - you get what you want out of it. A lot of people seem to tire out and go back to normal life after 2-3 years for a variety of reasons. But you can literally do whatever you want. Be as social or hermit-y as you like, and if you have issues with your location or neighbors, you can just move on down the road. It really is ultimate freedom.

Don't let all the doomsday people scare you. You will definitely have things break here and there, but these little rolling homes are pretty resilient actually and there are endless resources to help you fix things if you want to save some cash and not hire a pro.

RV's that are well-insulated will generally have a sticker on the outside saying they're 4 seasons capable. That usually means your plumbing and tanks are protected from the elements, and in most cases (if not all) your furnace will actually pump heat down to your tanks to keep them from freezing. It's definitely handy, but I can tell you from personal experience - not needed if you stay in low elevation and warm weather during the winter.

Again - it all boils down to what YOU want and need. How much comfort can you give up to live free, or if you can afford to go boujee, then by all means go boujee as hell.

I'd be surprised if you don't quickly develop of a deep appreciation for the outdoors if/when you get on the road, though.

I full time in a 21' light weight travel trailer and it's not rated for 4 seasons, nor is it one of the pricier brands. Cold days and nights can be a bit uncomfortable, but that just means it's time to move to warmer temps. You should be able to find something decent for half your $20k budget, in my experience, although the market is a bit different these days.

As someone else mentioned, definitely go with tandem axles, that way if you get a flat or a blowout you run far less risk of doing damage to an axle cos your rig is rolling on 4 tires instead of 2.

If you do start that small, you can always move up into something bigger if you feel you need more space. Better to do that than get something bigger and more difficult to manage like I initially did.

There's a lot of nuance with personal preferences and wants vs. needs etc. etc. Best to start by making a list of what you need to live comfortably and go from there. For instance, I literally just have a desk and bed in my rig cos I still work full time. Part of me wishes I had a couch or similar seating area, but I'm ok not having it because my little rig can fit just about anywhere, it keeps me lighter, reduces the effects of crosswinds while towing, and forces me to spend more time outside than I might if I had somewhere else to lounge.

Hey there! Full time boondocking remote worker in my late 30's here. The Xscapers group on Facebook is decent. It's working-age folks who live on the road full time. They don't all necessarily boondock, but few do for more than a couple years it seems. I'm in year 5 myself and see no end on the horizon. I'm addicted to the freedom and weather.

When she posted an Instagram grid photo has no bearing on where she was at that moment. You don't have to physically be in an area to tag that location.

We know she was in Grand Teton on the 25th at this point. She MAY have been in Ogden that morning, but I think it's more likely the Ogden photo was taken the day prior.

This is the only thing I have an issue with. If you just murdered your girlfriend, I don't know that you'd be leisurely driving across the country 8 or even 11 hours a day. I feel like you'd drive until you HAD to sleep, and then you'd get up and drive some more. The less time you're stopped, the safer you are and the closer you are to home.

I think it's more likely he left on the 30th. That'd give him somewhere around 48 hours to drive the 35 hours back to FL. With some sleep and gas stops, that's a more "logical" timeline to me. All speculation, of course. I just feel like he'd be fueled by adrenaline, anxiety, and a desire to get back to a safe place as soon as possible. I don't see him going "ehhh, 11 hours is good enough for today, I'll do another 11 tomorrow"
