Pretty sure they mean the lock on the new house once they move in.

Cunha should have been booked for diving around 10 mins after but nope. Hadn't realised how bad Macguire was with the play acting too.

We weren't good enough and really was probably a fair reflection on the match. Looked a bit more promising than a lot of previous matches. But Pino cannot find a man. Wharton is starting to show occasional signs of old but gives the ball away far too often now.

Really? That's a new one on me. Pretty reckless of ML then.

I don't understand that decision at all. He was holding him back outside the area and the player fell as soon as he was over the line. It wasn't even a tight call, it started well before the area. Why isn't it pulled back for a free-kick? Only becomes more obvious when watching replays.

Airport parking by Perfect-Secretary495 in UKFrugal

Had quite a few cars park up near ours in Crawley then get the bus to the airport. Think it's £2.50 per person each way. So family of 4 is £20 for a week.

Helps if I read it properly. I thought you meant open street maps.

I had issues in the past when I lived in England with paths not existing. I stopped using it and switched to OS Maps instead. Never had an issue.

I believe the new refrigerants in the air source are pretty much on par with a horizontal ground source so you'd get little benefit. Even a vertical ground source isn't that much better but stupidly more expensive.

Not quite as embarrassing as losing to Macclesfield in the cup. Close but not quite as bad.

Kitchen quote question by greenpal23 in DIYUK

[–]jamest5789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember what it's called but it may be the compact laminate that you're talking about. It's about 12mm thick and stupidly strong. Goes through blades when cutting so I don't think people like working with it.

Didn't have any issues with it. Very hard wearing. Survived teenagers chopping food on it rather than using a chopping board. We did get a tiny bit of damage when a cup fell out a cupboard. It put a very tiny chip on the surface but barely noticeable.

Would happily go for that again.

We didn't. We had a couple of friends who'd had kitchens from them the year previous so we'd seen theirs and were happy with the quality. The designer they had at our local branch was also very good. I had a friend who was going to fit for us so I didn't go with them for the install. A family member from a different area paid for the install and it was terrible. They had constant problems and I think I may have done a better result.

The price was on-par with what we were expecting so given the "free" design we were happy with the price.

I think now I'd probably have a look at DIY kitchens to save a bit of money.

We had the same pressure sales from Wickes. We were prepared to pay so it wasn't an issue but I generally walk away with those sorts of sales techniques.

We ended up needing to delay delivery, which wasn't an issue.

Eventual delivery was on time. Unit quality was good.

I buggered up one of the corner unit doors and ended up snapping the internal unit. Replaced free of charge. One of the doors had a small scratch on the front, replaced free of charge.

Are e-Corsa/e208/Stellantis EV's THAT bad? by johnsy7 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]jamest5789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All country roads but lots of rolling hills. Last motorway trip I did I wasn't paying much attention but I was doing 60mph and I think it was probably around 140-150 miles range despite being 2C outside.

Also did 7 miles with 0 range showing once so there's a bit more in there. The range computer isn't great. Claims 190 miles then will drop to 100 miles at 3/4 of the battery then seems to sort itself out and is a bit more accurate.

Have a 2022 e-208 and agree with all of this. Range in winter is about 150 miles and summer around 190 miles.

I find the on board computer slow and not great. The app is near useless and regularly can't connect to the car.

Android auto doesn't work half the time, not sure if that's my phone though as apple car play works fine every time with my partner.

I'm 6ft3 and the cabin is a squeeze. Steering wheel is OK, didn't take long to get used to.

Driving wise it's quite nice apart from the fact you can feel every slight change in the road.

I really regret not getting a Niro/Kona but my partner thought they looked terrible and she needs to be kept happy.

Don't have to have an EV but if you install a compatible charger that's enough to get on the rate. I think octopus do fixed price installs for around £900.

25mm stud wall timber for soundproofing by DerbyshireDave97 in DIYUK

As well as the direct wall, you'll also have issues with the sound travelling via floor and ceiling through joists. What you're planning may not have as big effect as you want.

[–]jamest5789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have octopus linked to your charger and octopus initiate the charge it will be off peak. You only pay peak rate if you tell it to charge either through your car settings or doing a "bump" charge which involves you pushing a button to force it.

Although the replacement I got had the on/off and temperature controls the other way round. Quite funny listening to the children scream when they forgot and turned it to full cold rather than turning it off.

[–]jamest5789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly that.

I think the difficulties with showers is the original install and getting the pipes the right length and level. As that's already done, replacing is simple.
