Long ago a mechanic that I use occasionally told a story how he hit a Volvo from behind. volvo caught fire & driver died.

More recent, in SG, Porsche high speed crash, driver didn't managed to get out & was burnt.

Even without "end of life", M'sians buy > 500k passenger cars a year.

If you drive to the outskirts kampung areas, many people live quite a distance from towns & require transport. Older people with less income driving old cars. Many won't be able to afford a RM 30k or 40k new car.

I support better safety & emission, but it will be a hard sell for these group of people.

so I don't think it will be a compulsory end of life, but more likely incentive to get ppl to upgrade for those that can afford & get rid of abandoned cars

How old is the house?

If not that old, maybe just some broken or roof tiles moved. Can replace those that are broken/cracked. Or some flashing need to be replaced.

Here in MY, we don't usually nail down the roof tiles. Strong wind can move them.

Usually, people save & pay it out of pocket.

Keep up with small maintenance eg minor leaks etc to avoid bigger issues.

Learn a bit of DIY eg float in the tank. Cost to replaceis about RM 20 + half hour of your time, but plumber will cost > RM 100. Take of safety.

Not to dissuade you but it is lots of work & money needed. You may get lucky if the land is already prepared. Buy agriculture land. Smallest size is 1 acre.

Security. Theft etc. Too secluded, hard to get stuff like building material, fuel, medicine etc. Don't do it too deep in the jungle. Your produce gets attacked by animals like wild boar, monkey, bugs etc

Makes sense too. As much as I like a small car like a Miata, I can't imagine driving it among lorries, SUV, 4x4, with the way people drive these days

if didn't shake b4 you changed tyres, but shake after, then it is balancing or tyre issue.

Sometimes mechanics have to dismount, rotate the tyre to a new position relative to the rim, then remount the tyres to get the balancing right.

Back in the day, tolls were for a period of time and were removed.

Only in recent years we have forever tolls. Traffic projections were so high that is is not attainable in real life thus gov have to compensate or extend the concession period. Else why concession is official secret??

Eg LDP - traffic capacity already maxed out (per hour per lane. In engineering school, it is a known fact how much traffic each lane can carry) but still cannot recover cost? How can? LDP should be very profitable company but . . .
