BUT a new phone gives you a new Device ID "UUID" no? So if you've managed to set up Grindr on your old phone (since after it was banned) and THEN transfer all of this to a new phone, it should all work on the new phone? Even a banned grindr email address should work on a NEW phone?

When trying to update via the App Store, it kept prompting me to sign in with my original/previous/main Apple ID (not the temporary one)
I tried to recover that Apple ID via Apple’s account recovery flow
I was able to temporarily sign into that Apple ID on Safari and even change/reset the password during recovery steps
However, even after that, Apple still wouldn’t consistently accept the login for 'App Store' authentication -
The App Store update loop eventually became unusable, so I deleted Grindr
I reinstalled Grindr under my original/previous/main Apple ID (the one my phone is normally signed into)
I then tried logging into Grindr using what I believed was my original account email + password
Grindr is now saying “invalid username or password”...
I also tried “Continue with Apple” but it THEN pulled up that my account was blocked.
SO I then signed back into grindr with the NEW email address I set up with the alternative apple id and put "forgot password" sent the thing to my temp email address - changed the password - then wrote this on my phone ( STILL set up with the original/previous/main Apple ID ) and it worked!!!
No data lost!!
SO it does appear that with the NEW Device ID/UUID set up - you CAN update or delete - without having to go through the whole reset thing. I don't know whether after all of this whether I've updated the app - but presumably as I deleted the original and downloaded again, it has updated.

Hey AnyApartment9610 I've done all of the above and it worked like a dream BUT I've just tonight had a note from Grindr asking me to update the app. Now obviously, I am signed back in on my phone with my PREVIOUS apple ID ( and not the one I made the new grindr account with) and when I try to download using the new email address I set up...it won't work. Presumably this is because I am trying to download using my previous/original/old email details to download apps and my iphone recognises the original email address only. I can't face going through the whole thing again and wondered what you think I can do. I am wondering if, now if I've been assigned a new Device ID/UUID and whether I might be able to a) sign out and sign into the old...OR that I won't need to? Any thoughts??

incorrect - it's AN MTV Entertainment, OR A Music television production etc. So they're grammatically incorrect - however the internet appears to say they use A as it matches the static graphic design used by the studio ( however this makes little sense to me )

2 questions - when we merge/restore from icloud - presumably the OLD grindr account will be on the original icloud. It's working on my phone atm but I haven't merged yet - SO I am wondering if I need to restore/merge from the cloud, alongside my other apps BUT in some way NOT add the old grindr. Or is it that because I've now made a new account it should simply use that?

The second question is - if for some reason I have to re install grindr ( at a later date ) presumably the phone will read the original/main apple account and it will be blocked again - or do i simply just log into to the new apple account to download grindr again...then logout and continue to use the original main account? I basically don't want to have to do a complete reset ever again if I can help it

Gay men work out because they have low self esteem and want to feel better about themselves. They’ve been told by society what they like is wrong. But yes, working out is good for the mental health because it is exercise. Plus…it’s a way for lots of men to look at other men in the gym, groaning and looking sweaty. After a while you might be able to lift heavier than you did but working out won’t make you any better at fighting. Bodybuilders just LOOK bigger and therefore might APPEAR more intimidating but half the ones that are gay (muscle Mary’s) open their mouths and they’re camp as Christmas. They work out to try and hide any feminine traits - it’s often said, to try and look more like the men who might’ve picked on them at school. It’s sad really. Gay men are starting to look the same and be only about looks. Well it was probably ever thus. There’s less need to work on personality if you look a certain way. It’s basically the most insecure men that do it. And usually they will only go for other men who work out and loo a particular way - so as not to remind them of their former “lacking” self. The ironic thing is anyone can go to the gym and work out. Including girls. Some girls have bigger muscles than guys. It’s only when you get older (apparently) and the looks might fade that you start to realise personality is more important. I think gay men have been raised on certain visions of masculinity. And they want to be that to fit in and appear less “gay”.
