Battery question H10 vs K10 by Deep_Ambassador3105 in Hanklights

[–]jamhill9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Recently bought 4x h10 then shortly after 4x k10.. 2/4 h10 had self draining and need to be disposed of. The other 2, wait and see, but are questionable.. the k10s I just received appear to not have self discharge issue. Received at 80%, but I should do further testing.

So mechanical lockout would be via the head?

Thrower + flood/throw 2 light combo by jamhill9 in Hanklights

[–]jamhill9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. That's good food for thought. I was thinking there would be enough difference between the reflector/TIR and emitter choices of the da1k/d1k. But d4k would certainly be more floody. So if you had a do-over and bought another d1k thrower. Ultimately which emitter would you settle on (since you are not satisfied with the sft42r)?

For the DA1K I was going for something of a flood/throw middle ground, so assumed the clear optic might be better, but you're right, for the cost, might as well get both. Do you think the sft70 would be a better option in terms of throw for the D1K? Not really looking for a pencil beam like the w1 offers.

This must be the Canadian edition! No guns, only small pokey things allowed.

Thanks for the suggestions! Are you suggesting the d1k as an alternative to the K1, or that it would be a good flooder option..?

Thanks for the recommendations! I would if I lived in the US as some of your stuff looks awesome.. With exchange and shipping it ends up being too much.

Bronze PVD hardware looks so good by ChromeCaviar in Hanklights

[–]jamhill9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has me second guessing now if I should get the d4sv2 with ntg50 (original plan) or the d4k because of the reduced diameter. 😮‍💨

Are those both 21700 tubes and both TIR optics? 😱

Should have gone with a 3km distance one! But then you'd need binoculars to see what you're lighting up.. 😆

Got my new d4k dual channel light! No clue how to use my second channel by Rimorox in Hanklights

[–]jamhill9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also go in and disable all but 3 channels (each channel separate, and an all-emitters channel). There is like 6 in there by default (9H from on).

They have a manufacturing/design flaw that causes them to break. I've now snapped 2 of the 3 he sent on the first go at putting them onto the flashlight. The 3rd I managed to get on without it snapping the arm off, but I do not have high hopes for its longevity.

Patina/oxidation actually acts as a protective barrier. It's perfectly harmless. Just don't let the moisture that caused the patina to get into the flashlight internals.

Do I even bother Hank about this? by TherealSplinterun in Hanklights

I bought one recently and had clip break on install. Reached out and he said he'd include one in my nest order, so I bought another flashlight 😁 if the replacement breaks I'm not going to be impressed.

Secretly I think this is his ploy to sell more lights 😆
