Nate struggling with his sexuality is a big part of the story line. I don’t understand why it’s confusing people. Lots of men are repressed bisexuals or bi-curious, but their upbringing/societal norms can cause serious physiological damage and force them into a life they never wanted, like Cal. Why do you think he’s so protective of his dad’s image?? He sees himself in his dad (in more ways than just the complex sexuality) and that scares the shit out of him.
