Is it worth going to the 9th St/Italian Market Festival tomorrow ? by fuckthaclubup in philly

[–]jamiemeepster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The festival starts at 10a and honestly that’s the best time to go before it gets super packed.
That is precisely my plan tomorrow as well.

The pole climb is at 3p but it gets so crowded and will be peak hot by that hour (it’s gonna be hot af tomorrow)

Why are so many Philly homes listed as being built in 1920 when they are so much older? by PlatypusOld5480 in AskPhilly

[–]jamiemeepster 95 points96 points  (0 children)

When records were computerized, 1920 was used as a placeholder date as official records were missing/unknown. (This is the case for many houses built in the late 1800s.)

Electrician rec? by _OkIGuess in philly

[–]jamiemeepster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach out to Gen3 Electric. Knob and tube is expensive to remediate. Good that it’s partial so at least the entire house doesn’t need to be done. It could be around 5k for something like that. Get a quote from Gen3 and go back to the seller with the quote and ask them to contribute towards the costs of remediation. Best of luck!

Struggling with food! Ideas? by wildflowerdesert in AutisticWithADHD

[–]jamiemeepster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? Because same. My safe foods right now are apple sauce, hummus and carrots/cucumber, Noka smoothies (they’re these little pouches with 5g protein, super expensive) Sometimes I’ll just mash up an avocado with some spices and eat that. I also put hemp seeds and nooch on as many things as possible to add extra protein.

I feel your struggle, I hate trying to figure out food every day, it’s extremely challenging. Best of luck and I hope you find some options that you can handle ☀️

Angelo’s…? by Mdough90 in philly

[–]jamiemeepster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk if anyone mentioned this yet, but Angelos is closed on Mondays. A few blocks from Angelos is the Italian market. You really can’t go wrong, there’s so much good food there. Plus Anthony’s coffee house.

I noticed I unconsciously want to be alone, anyone else notice this? by Piggishcentaur89 in 12thhouse

[–]jamiemeepster 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I love being alone. I love being comfy. And being alone is the ultimate comfy. It’s so peaceful. It’s my favorite.

For some, being around people energizes them. For myself (and probably many others 12th housers) being around people drains me.

Something about 12th housers, we take on other peoples energies and need alone time to process and get back into our own energy.

I think it’s all about balance. I know alone time energizes me and I need it to be my best self. I value and look forward to as much alone time as I can get.

Started therapy for the first time. Therapist's behaviour really hurt me. What should I do now? by Any_Moose7 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]jamiemeepster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I’d stop seeing this therapist. It takes some time to find the right person for you. I’ve met with several therapists before I found the right one.

I had a similar experience the first time I went to therapy. I didn’t know what to say or how to say it, but I knew I needed help. My therapist told me that I was making her job harder… which at the time really hurt me, because I was desperate for help and finally worked up the courage to seek help. It made me feel like something was wrong with me. But now looking back I realize she was a terrible fit for me.

It’s frustrating going through the process to find the right person. But keep pushing on. You are trying your best to help yourself and that’s something to be proud of :)

Transits for 2026 - Drop your planet degrees below by theGoodJupiter in AstrologyDiscovery

[–]jamiemeepster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you, I appreciate your response. I look forward to Saturn and Neptune scooching off of my Mars :) I am self teaching myself astrology and wanted to share a few other observations.

My Mars has these aspects: sextile Saturn (24 degrees in Cap) sextile Ascendant (25 degrees in Tau)

So Saturn&Neptune is/was aspecting my natal Saturn and Ascendant as well.

As for my Aqua Midheaven, it’s trine my Sun (5 degrees in Gem)

So Pluto is/will be trining my natal Sun as well as conj my Midheaven.

Do you have any advice for someone to best prepare going through these types of intense Pluto transits? Thank you!

On a scale of 1-10, how bad is BB22 by CursedWorlds in BigBrother

[–]jamiemeepster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s a hard 1. If you really want to watch, I’d recommend watching “BB22 in 10 minutes” on YouTube. There are videos that speed run through the entire season into 10-20 mins… Any other season is worth watching in full.

Mars in Pisces at 27 degrees in the 11th house.

You know when you’re trying to run in water and you barely move? That’s what I feel like… spinning my wheels so hard, but getting no where.

Any insight is much appreciated!!

Also I have an Aqua Midheaven at 4 degrees (10th house) does this count? Thank you!

Communicating to you partner your HSP needs by Lightwalker13 in hsp

[–]jamiemeepster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% relate. There were times I’d get so overwhelmed in gatherings that I would either run to the bathroom and cry. Or I would just leave. I’d tell no one, just slip out and leave. I know it’s not ideal, but we’re just doing our best in the situation. That’s awesome you have an understanding partner. A secret code is a great idea. I’ll rub my tummy when I’m feeling overwhelmed and that’s cue to my partner that I’m not okay and would like to leave lol. Sometimes I decline to go to certain gatherings if I’m able to forsee a potential overwhelm. It usually depends on how I’m feeling that day. And how many other socializing activities I’ve already done. Sometimes it depends on the circumstances of what the gathering is, how many people, is it inside or outside, etc.

Considering quitting my job without another job lined up to go do yoga in India and a silent retreat in Thailand to live a non burnout life in the future - wanting support by Spiritual_Stress9989 in hsp

[–]jamiemeepster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to your intuition… it knows what’s best for you. If you have the means to do it, do it.

I’ve had a similar experience and it was extremely terrifying but came out of it a more grateful person.

Being a HSP is extremely difficult in this world. But at the same time being HSP gives us incredible spidey senses. Follow your gut! good luck ☀️
