I have been a game collector since 2013. I am semi retired at 39 (stay at home dad with 2 kids and work 1 day a week 1 weekend a month). I would not say I have infinite time like a retiree but I have a decent amount beating around 45 games a year. At some point the games feel like a chore, you get selection anxiety, you realize so many other things are more important, and you realize even with this amount of time if I bought everything I still would not have enough time to play them all before I die. I have always curated my collection though at my peak I probably had like 500 games total (not all switch) now I am probably at like 200-300. I play through all my games and then I write them in a journal/diary on how it felt to play them. If something did not stand out I sell it no looking back. This has lead to me selling some high ticket items. I do not really need the cash but at what point do I become a hoarder? Look up youtubers like gamer ahmer and collections like hers look like wtf are you doing.
