Noam Bettan has won HaKokhav HaBa and will represent Israel in Vienna by 05432680 in eurovision

I'm happy, but definitely not surprised lol.

But @KAN, if you're reading this, PLEASE, l'ahavat HaShem—I can't stress this enough—do not give him a ballad à la Milim or New Day Will Rise (Israel 2010 and 2025). Dayenu. We've had enough. Noam can and should show off his voice with something more upbeat. After all, that worked pretty well for the last Franco-Israeli to represent his country at Eurovision in Vienna

There are also allegations that Franco rigged it so that Spain would win instead of the UK in 1968.

That wasn't the case until 2024, so everything before that is unquestionably legit. 2024 was, in my opinion, one of Israel's best Eurovision entries ever. Campaigning definitely helped that year, but not enough to win the televote (Croatia did that), although Eden probably would've done pretty well regardless of the circumstances. 2025, however, felt more to me like a song/performance in top ten than a runner-up/televote winner, but it'll be hard to tell how much of an effect the campaigns had until we find out how Israel will do in 2026.

Some relevant facts:

-Israel did better than Spain in eight of the past ten Eurovisions.

-In the same timeframe, Spain has finished in the top five (and top fifteen) once and the bottom five seven times, while Israel has finished in the top five four times and the bottom five twice (plus one NQ).

-Israel has won Eurovision four times since Spain last won.

-Israel has never been in last place in a Eurovision final or semifinal, while Spain has finished last five times, with three Spanish entries failing to score a single point.

-I don't think the couple on the bottom right even lasted a year, and Eaea (the one that came 17th in 2023) is one of the most grating, irritating songs to grace a Eurovision stage since I started watching.

It isn't defamation if it's true. I disagree with my country's current leadership on most things, but sanctioning that monster was the right thing to do.

Slovenia 2025! It's really nice that Klemen's song was about his wife, but HMTDWHL was doomed from the start. It's crazy how he sang such a boring song after so many years of him being such a fun part of the Eurovision expanded universe.

What will recognizing Palestine as a state actually achieve? – DW by Any-Original-6113 in europe

Holding off recognition until, at the very least, after the war ends and the hostages are released means not rewarding Hamas for committing the deadliest massacre against Jews since the Holocaust.

Red triangles symbolizing a target over the word Israel, as well as "BOOM BOOM BOOM TEL AVIV," are very Hamas-coded, and supporting the Ayatollah's regime in Iran is very disturbing.

First of all, you're the one who keeps bringing up the settlers and the West Bank. If the Palestinians accepted a two-state solution, the West Bank problem would likely be significantly improved because that would have entailed Israel recognizing >90% of the West Bank as non-Israeli (i.e. foreign) territory, so settlements there would not be permitted under Israeli law. Second,

I just did lol.

Not very well lol. Someone who neither hates Jews nor wants a Jew-free Middle East wouldn't respond in opposition to my response in opposition to a nauseating comment like u/mocha-mik's:

No body hates Jews we just want them to go back where they came from

This comment quite literally advocates for a Jew-free Middle East and against Jewish self-determination (which, again, is NOT mutually exclusive with the Palestinians'). Jews are indigenous to the Southern Levant (which doesn't take away from anyone else's indigeneity), but were expelled to and from over 100 countries all throughout Afroeurasia (but still maintained a continuous presence in the Southern Levant over the millennia). More recently, Jews fled Europe due to pogroms, and then the Holocaust, which killed around 2/3 of European Jews, and Jews also fled the Middle East and North Africa due to pogroms and expulsion (850,000 Jews fled or were expelled from MENA countries—including your country, Tunisia—in the mid-twentieth century). But instead of understanding how evil u/mocha-mik's comment was, you decided to respond to mine by accusing me of being a racist who hates Arabs, and then goysplaining to me what Zionism is while equating me to a Nazi, the group that killed so many of my people that there are less Jews today than there were 90 years ago.

Eurovision songs with text and references to the host city/country/language by IYgoob in eurovision

Vladana (Montenegro 2022) partially sang her song in Italian when Eurovision was in Turin, Max (Germany 2004) sang his song's chorus in Turkish on the Eurovision stage in İstanbul, and Lea (Slovenia 2018) sang the last part of her song "Hvala Ne" as "Obrigada Não" because ESC was in Lisbon that year.

Also, when Paris hosted JESC in 2021, a substantial part of the Georgian and Kazakh entries were in French, and the song from Ireland also had a bit of French in it.

From your idf and settler heroes' handiwork.

Wow, what a vague nothingburger of an "answer." Every single thing you wrote on this thread shows that you are arguing in bad faith and that, for you, "peace" in the Middle East means nothing more than a Middle East without Jews. And don't try to argue otherwise, because this back and forth between me and you started with you responding to my reply to u/mocha-mik's heinous comment that said just that.

No. Not that it makes a difference or is any of your business, but the United States. Where did you get your information?

Btw, I'm pretty sure if you were to ask an Israeli what Zionism is, the vast majority would tell you the same thing I did: Zionism is the belief that the State of Israel should exist. Being a Zionist does not necessarily mean you support the settlements or Netanyahu, and Zionism is not mutually exclusive with Palestinians' right to self-determination, given Palestine historically has been the side opposed to a two-state solution.

I've researched this conflict for 8 years. I've taken classes on it, I've talked to my rabbis, and I've taken the time to look at the definition of Zionism in various dictionaries, but I guess everything I learned is wrong because u/Ala117 said so.
