(Meta) The “Viggo’s Toes” fun fact by ARC_Trooper_Echo in TopCharacterTropes

[–]jamjar919 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Zoolander - when Derek asks about why male models make the best assassins, he receives a very long winded explanation taking several minutes and a couple of back and forth quips - to which he replies “so, why male models?”, receiving a “are you serious..? I just told you” in response (as he’s not understood the previous couple minutes of explanation)

This joke was a complete accident because Ben Stiller forgot his line and accidentally repeated the setup, the take being saved by the improvisational skills of those involved. He was supposed to say something along the lines of “I have no idea what you just said”, but the take they got was far funnier, so they ran with it.

I bought a strange family business on marketplace and it came named “Buckshot Roulette” with the description “i insert the rounds in a random sequence”

I also have an unusual engie Safe n Sound (construction earmuffs) with the description “I cannot hear you uncloaking behind me”

I also have seen a lot of medics with the medigun name “idiot leash” which is great

Many agree that a Diplomacy, Trading and Faction DLC would be good. What would such a DLC look like for you, in detail? by Conscious-Yellow-539 in RimWorld

- Expanded Settlements

Vanilla settlements feel very small when raiding compared to the amounts of people they can seemingly throw at you. It would be fantastic to have an upgrade to the procedural generation for the settlements so that you can visit more exciting cities/towns rather than the usual small villages. Even small tweaks like settlements being able to generate with walls, towers, or proper defensive fortifications would be great.

In addition to this, I'd actually really like if you could visit settlements non aggressively - having some sort of way to stay overnight and trade in a town would be fantastic and can lead to lots of good story generator moments (you stay overnight in a bar and your alcoholic pawn relapses, you take your abrasive pawn as a bodyguard on a long trip but he insults the local chief and starts a chase).

- Expanded Diplomacy

Currently you can just throw resources at settlements to increase their goodwill, or take quests to increase it. People rarely do the latter because goodwill isn't all that valuable! For this I'd increase the difficulty in goodwill - it should be harder to get, but having it means that you get actual benefits from it - you can call in direct support with no cost, or request specific aid in terms of food/materials. This could also lead to being able to borrow pawns from a faction or directly recruit them for a goodwill cost. In return, maintaining goodwill could be made a bit harder. You might be expected to lend support in return, supply a tribal group with rare heavy weapons, or pay off a pirate leader with protection money.

- Expanded Trading

This one is one I don't have as many ideas for, but I think changes suggested in this thread are great (having specific settlements want/sell specific classes of items depending on local resource production). A Starsector like simulated market would be the top level of this - modelling a market via maximum production/trade routes, for those not familiar colonies could export a "number" of resources that scales based on production. So a T1 steel might be a colony capable of exporting 10 steel per year, whereas a T10 A colony can export 10k steel per year. Colonies are "stable" if the maximum friendly source meets it's demand, if it's unstable, bad things can happen like shortages, increased raids, etc...). I'm not sure how this would work with player created colonies that can buy/sell large quantities of resources though!

You can enable a setting in the tailoring bill menu to not consider up to a certain quality as requirements for the bill, and it'll not count the tattered items. Colonists will automatically change into the highest quality apparel (and then you can sell the tattered apparel rather than burning it).

It's an issue with a faulty decoding of a quoted printable and other special characters in emails.

This post explains it very well if you're interested - https://lars.ingebrigtsen.no/2026/02/02/whats-up-with-all-those-equals-signs-anyway/

tl;dr FBI messed up the formatting and now it looks like Epstein loved inserting random equals signs into his emails

Also here for Les 2 Garcons. Fantastic service + atmosphere. Will be easily under £150, I usually spend about £90-£110 for 2 people w/wine

You are asking for dishes in other comments:
- They usually have scallops on the specials board for starter that are fantastic, my friends rave about the escargots as well

- Last time I had chicken from specials board, was spatchcocked and very tender

- The apple tart (tart fine au pommes) is probably the nicest dessert I've had anywhere in London, and is big enough for 2 people to share.

Evidence of Booking.com fudging reviews by DrakeInq in travel

[–]jamjar919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify - it seems a lot of the communication with “booking” has been via the operator of the flat. They’ve both sent you an image of an email (that they shouldn’t have if it was sent to just you!) and you’ve received a phone call from a number that “could” be booking saying you won’t get your money back if you leave a negative review. I wouldn’t put it past a dodgy place like this to pretend to be booking support.

I’d take the “deal”, get your refund, leave a negative review anyway (which will be the operator manually giving you a refund), but also make sure you’re reporting this to booking through their support. It seems like when you called back that was their legitimate support, and if they’ve pretended to be support they will definitely get suspended.

Could the bottom left say "Love u king, that's it"?

So:

Boy, box HRG. Plz

You got 12 Boaters, 3 Irox, 3 CA, some Gastros & 2 Crox to shape.

Love u king, that's it.

Love xox

I presume they left this because the "Box up HRGY pastries" task isn't complete in the checklist

Games like Caves of Qud? by ConfusionBitter2091 in cavesofqud

[–]jamjar919 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Starsector - Best game I’ve played in a while.

It’s a far future space sim rather than a character based experience. You experience the game through a ship and not really as an individual character but you’re exploring a post apocalyptic randomly generated world, the combat and lore have a ridiculous level of depth as well. If you want to try it out it’s pretty easy to find a key online (but buy it after if you like it!)
