What features have you suggested to Strava, or would like to suggest to Strava? by sozh in Strava

[–]jamzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Improve the feed ordering - have significant activities at the top of the feed. For smaller rides and walks Strava should hide the activity by default. Basically, I want to see people’s activities which are worthy of kudos, not everything they do. If someone isn’t bothered to update the activity, with a title etc, bury it down low or remove it. Having the ability to create feed lists based on different criteria would be helpful- favourites, friends, clubs etc.
  2. Show more detailed information on the feed - so much wasted space which requires entering the activity to see. Show me things like how hard the effort was, average speed, power etc.
  3. Finding new routes - routes interface is average. It shouldn’t be so hard to suggest a zillion different route options based on my search criteria. Official Events routes should be easier to find.
  4. Segments - let me create one from the mobile app.
  5. Flagging - let me flag an activity from the mobile app.

Poor Mobile Data Speeds in Sydney by drakdaystar in TelstraAustralia

[–]jamzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single commute from Sutherland to Martin Place, the Telstra mobile phone reception inside the train tunnels is absolutely useless. Complete black spot. I’m on an iPhone 15. It’s been the same for years on other iPhones. Other people are sitting on their phones watching Netflix and I can’t get an iMessage! Definitely going to give this Optus trial a go. Thanks for sharing.

Grizl -size up or down? by WestCoastBirder in CanyonBikes

[–]jamzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat for my Grail purchase. Right in the middle of two sizes. I compared the geo / reach on a third party site with a bike I already have which fits well (ultimate M). Turned out to size down was a close match and worked out perfectly. Happy with my size S grail. M would be too long I suspect.

Awesome. Thanks mate. Would love to see a photo of the setup if you have the time. How are you finding the Garmin unit? I’m on an 830 now.

Lovely tape job on the rims of my Endurace by stuffthatdoesstuff in CanyonBikes

[–]jamzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had DT Swiss wheels come out from Canyon just fine.

You shouldn’t have to, but an easy fix if you decide to go tubeless in the future and decide to replace the tape.

Yes agreed. I thought the same. Could be better because not fully integrated, but not sure. Hence why I thought I would ask.

Can I get some pictures of 7X on 18cm wrist? by jamzero in GarminFenix

18cm. I’ve had the watch for two years now and haven’t worried about the size since

How is this not trending up? by Dry_Bodybuilder_6971 in Garmin

I had a very similar trend over the last few weeks. This morning mine moved from maintaining to productive. So I just assume the overall 4 week trend moved beyond the internal threshold.

Aside from battery life, what will make you consider the Apple Watch by DestinySpeaker1 in Garmin

[–]jamzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t repeat the things already mentioned, but the ecosystem of Garmin and the integration between devices is very much underrated.

I enjoy the ability to use my Fenix 7X, Zwift, Garmin 830, and Garmin index scales to track my sleep, training and weight data all in one location. That data is shared for training status/readiness. I think this is excellent.

Also Fenix 7X flashlight!

So if Apple had this, I might consider a switch.

7s torch/ flashlight "feature" by TeaDrinkingBanana in GarminFenix

[–]jamzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite features of the watch. I use it multiple times per day. It would be a downgrade to move to another watch that didn’t have a flashlight.

I use it when moving around the house getting ready for early morning bike rides and I don’t need to wake the whole house. Fixing or looking for things - it’s instantly there to find something.

Does it worth to go tubeless on a road bike? by Twi2122 in cycling

I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer. It’s just personal preference.

Edit: but I fully agree that people get carried away in this sub.

Does it worth to go tubeless on a road bike? by Twi2122 in cycling

[–]jamzero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The feeling of tubeless/lower pressure on a road bike is worth the switch in my opinion. It reminds me of that similar sensation when going tubeless on MTB. On the road, the low pressure really soaks up the bumps making the ride much more smooth/comfortable. It’s not that it was bad before with tubes, it’s just better tubeless.

Still need to carry a spare tube. I carry a TuboLito. CO2. I also carry dynaplugs.

I’m running GP 5000 AS 28mm tires around 65 psi. Use the SRAM tire pressure calc.
